Warriors Head to Tracy for NorCal Crossover Classic

TRACY, Calif. — Stan State softball returns to action Feb. 27–March 1 at the NorCal Crossover Classic at the Tracy Sports Complex, where the Warriors will face Northwest Nazarene (Friday, 9 a.m.), Western Washington (Friday, 2 p.m.), Central Washington (Saturday, 9 a.m.), Montana State Billings (Saturday, 11:30 a.m.) and Western Oregon (Sunday, 11:30 a.m.) in a five-game, three-day stretch against Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents.

Warriors in Review:

Stan State enters the weekend 8-3 overall, including a 5-1 mark at home and 3-2 in neutral-site contests. The Warriors are batting .265 as a team with 66 hits and 48 runs scored, while the pitching staff holds a 3.34 ERA through 65 innings of work.

Individual Pitching Leaders:

Alexandria Himes leads the staff with a 2.07 ERA and a 3-1 record in four starts, including three complete games. Alexis Camberos is 3-0 with a 2.24 ERA and 12 strikeouts over 25 innings and has recorded the Warriors' lone save of the season. Nat Camarena is 1-1 on the year with nine strikeouts in 14.2 innings to help anchor the rotation.

Offensive Leaders:

Katelyn Bridgeman leads the Warriors with a .382 batting average, 13 hits and 11 runs scored. Ava Montesdeoca is hitting .379 with 11 hits, five stolen bases and a team-best .471 on-base percentage. Malia Babasa owns a team-high .552 slugging percentage with four doubles, one triple and six RBI. Nat Camarena has driven in a team-leading 11 RBI with two home runs and a .650 slugging percentage, while Babasa's triple accounts for the Warriors' lone three-base hit of the season.

NorCal Crossover Opponents

Northwest Nazarene

Northwest Nazarene enters the week 10-5 overall, including a 6-3 mark in neutral-site contests. The Nighthawks are hitting .265 as a team with 103 hits and 80 runs scored, while posting a 1.73 team ERA and holding opponents to a .187 batting average. Ava Clark leads NNU with a .370 average and 15 runs scored, while Keana Bell is batting .364 with four home runs and 19 RBI. Emma Bumatay has also added four home runs and 14 RBI. In the circle, Miah Lusk is 5-2 with a 1.93 ERA and 44 strikeouts. Stan State leads the all-time series 3-2 since 2015.

Western Washington

Western Washington enters 7-6 overall with a .287 team batting average, 95 hits, 82 runs scored, 13 home runs and a .483 slugging percentage. EmmaJoy Wise is hitting .389 with three home runs, Hailey Rath has five home runs and 18 RBI, and Maleah Andrews has added three homers. Alanna Wirtala leads the staff at 6-3 with a 3.59 ERA and 39 strikeouts. Stan State leads the all-time series 9-5 since 2008.

Central Washington

Central Washington is 4-9 overall and hitting .331 as a team with 119 hits, 94 runs scored and 10 home runs. McKayla Cable is batting .521 with 25 hits, while Jadyn Holdren is hitting .513 with five home runs. Zoey Theophilus is 3-2 with a 5.49 ERA in the circle. Central Washington leads the all-time series 8-5 since 2008, but the Warriors won the first two meetings this season, 9-1 and 6-1.

Montana State Billings

Montana State Billings enters 2-12 overall with a .255 team batting average, 90 hits and 63 runs scored. Marleigh Nieto leads the Yellowjackets with a .488 average and eight doubles, while Wynter Hurst is hitting .383 with 12 RBI. Grace Hood has three home runs and 11 RBI. Ashley Akers is 2-3 with a 5.77 ERA and the team's lone save as MSUB carries a 10.50 team ERA. Stan State leads the all-time series 8-5.

Western Oregon

Western Oregon is 6-6 overall and batting .297 as a team with 96 hits and 62 runs scored. Madelynne Hommel leads the Wolves with a .450 average, while Lexi Baumgartner has three home runs and 16 RBI. Kennedy Abbas owns a 2.80 ERA, and Braeli Martin is 2-2 with two saves. Western Oregon leads the all-time series 6-3 since 2008, but the Warriors won the first meeting this season, 8-6, in Lake Elsinore.

Stan State opens CCAA play on the road March 6-7 with a four-game series at No. 3 Cal State San Marcos in San Marcos, Calif. The Warriors will play doubleheaders Friday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., followed by Saturday games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Stan State then returns home March 13-14 to host Cal State San Bernardino in a four-game CCAA series at Warrior Softball Field in Turlock. The teams will play doubleheaders Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. All home games will feature live stats and streaming on FloCollege and BlueChip Broadcasting. Levi Flores will be on the call for BlueChip Broadcasting for all Stan State home CCAA games.
