STOCKTON, Calif. — Carson Diaz delivered one of the low rounds of the day for Stan State, carding a 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round of the Visit Stockton DII Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Stan State finished 20th in the 21-team field with a 36-hole total of 613 (304-309) on the par-72, 7,315-yard layout.
Diaz climbed into a tie for 39th at 149 (79-70), recording nine birdies across the tournament to tie for the team lead. Riley Kirk finished tied for 69th at 153 (75-78) and added five birdies along with one eagle during the event. Owen Bascom placed tied for 78th at 154 (72-82), while Chase Bird finished tied for 90th at 157 (78-79). Ethan Gonsalves posted a 164 (81-83). Competing as an individual, Jesse Verheul tied for 84th at 156 (79-77).
Statistically, the Warriors found their best scoring opportunities on the par-5s, averaging 4.90 and finishing 4-under as a team on those holes. Stan State played the par-3s at 3.23 (+9), with Bascom and Bird each even on the short holes for the tournament. Par-4 scoring proved the most challenging, with the team averaging 4.52 over two rounds.
Stan State totaled 28 birdies and one eagle during the event.
Colorado State–Pueblo claimed the team title at 569, followed by Western Washington at 576 and Colorado Christian at 579.

The 21-team field at the Visit Stockton DII Invitational included Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Marcos, Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State–Pueblo, CSU Dominguez Hills, Dominican (CA), Hawaii Hilo, Hawaii Pacific, Jessup, Lubbock Christian, Northwest Nazarene, Saint Martin's, Stan State, Vanguard, Westmont, Western New Mexico, Western Washington and Westminster (UT), featuring several programs regionally ranked and in postseason contention.
