TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns to the road this week for two pivotal CCAA contests, traveling to Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. before visiting Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m., as the Warriors look to improve their position for a postseason berth with six games remaining in the regular season, including four on the road.
Tight CCAA Race with Six Games Remaining
Stan State sits at 7–9 in CCAA play and 11–11 overall with six games remaining in the regular season, currently tied for sixth place with Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino. UC Merced is also 7–9 but is not eligible for postseason play this season. The Warriors are one game back of fifth-place Cal State San Marcos and two games behind fourth-place Cal State Monterey Bay, and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over both CSUSM and CSUMB, as the middle of the conference standings remains tightly packed. Cal State East Bay leads the CCAA at 16–0 and remains unbeaten overall, while Cal State Dominguez Hills sits second at 12–4. The top six eligible teams at the end of the regular season will qualify for the CCAA Men's Basketball Championships, scheduled for March 5–7 in Pomona, Calif., with the tournament champion earning the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship.

Stan State Responds with Key Home Win After Tight Loss
Stan State split a pair of CCAA home games last week at Fitzpatrick Arena, falling 73–69 to Chico State before responding with a 74–67 win over Cal Poly Humboldt. Against Chico State, the Warriors battled through eight ties and six lead changes before the Wildcats sealed the game at the free-throw line late, with
Donjae Lindsey scoring a game-high 18 points and
Daniel Ameyaw adding 16. Stan State bounced back on Saturday with a wire-to-wire victory over Humboldt, as four Warriors reached double figures and the team controlled the glass and the paint throughout the contest.
Antony Newman-Gomez led the Warriors with a season-high 15 points, while
Malachi Johnson,
Lloyd French, and
Tahjae Ordonio each chipped in 10. The weekend results allowed Stan State to split the season series with both Chico State and Cal Poly Humboldt.

Cal State San Bernardino enters Saturday's matchup at 10–13 overall and 7–9 in CCAA play, tied with Stan State and Cal Poly Pomona in the middle of the conference standings. The Coyotes are led by Aidan Fowler, who averages a team-high 15.1 points per game while also shooting 86.2 percent from the free-throw line. Gavin Davis adds 12.4 points per contest and contributes on the glass with 4.3 rebounds per game, while Zion Paleo provides 10.2 points and leads the team with 61 assists.
