Himes Named FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State's Alexandria Himes has been named the FloCollege/California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced.

Himes went 2-0 in the circle for the Warriors in their series against Cal State San Bernardino, tossing two complete games and finishing the week with a 1.00 ERA in 14.0 innings pitched. She allowed just 10 hits and two earned runs, while striking out six and walking four. Himes also held opposing hitters to a .196 batting average during the week.

She opened the series on March 13, earning the win after allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings with two strikeouts and three walks in a 4-2 Warrior victory. Himes also contributed defensively with two assists in the field.

Himes followed that performance with a dominant outing on March 14, throwing a complete-game shutout in a 5-0 win. In that contest she scattered four hits, struck out four, and walked one over seven innings while adding an assist defensively.

For the season, Himes is now 7-3 with a 2.67 ERA in 11 appearances and nine starts. She has recorded six complete games and two shutouts while striking out 30 batters in 60.1 innings pitched. Opponents are batting .252 against her this season.

Defensively, Himes has also been solid in the circle with 14 total chances, including two putouts and 12 assists, while posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Stan State (14-10, 3-5 CCAA) continues CCAA play on the road March 27–28 with a four-game series at Chico State at Wildcat Softball Field in Chico, Calif.

The series begins Friday, March 27 with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., followed by another doubleheader on Saturday, March 28 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. All four games will be streamed on FloCollege with live stats available.

The Warriors will then return home the following week to host No. 3 Cal State East Bay in a four-game CCAA series at Warrior Softball Field in Turlock.

The series begins Thursday, April 2 with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and continues Friday, April 3 with games scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Games will be streamed on FloCollege with BlueChip Broadcasting providing coverage for the home contests.
