Stan State continues its spring slate with a full weekend of competition across Warrior Athletics. Softball highlights the week at home, hosting No. 3 Cal State East Bay for a four-game CCAA series beginning Thursday at Warrior Softball Field. Women's tennis opens the stretch against Fresno Pacific on Thursday before heading to Dominican on Saturday, while track & field splits competition across three meets in the Bay Area, competing at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, Mike Fanelli Classic and Stanford Invitational.

Relay Record, National Marks Highlight West Coast Relays
Stan State delivered a strong showing at the West Coast Relays, highlighted by a school-record and NCAA provisional mark in the men's 4x100 relay. The quartet of Ivan Mendoza, Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer and Andrew Bishop clocked 40.57 to rank 10th in NCAA Division II.

In the jumps, Eric Green led the way with a provisional qualifying mark of 24-2.5 (7.38m), the third-best mark in program history.
Andrew Bishop also moved to No. 3 all-time in the 100 meters with a time of 10.50, with Blayne Siebert (10.73) and Jaevin Sawyer (10.71) adding depth to the sprint group. On the women's side, Ahlia Albergottie recorded a top-10 program mark in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.70).  In the throws, Alexis Nino led the women's group across all three events, while Mason Phillips paced the men in the shot put. The distance group also continued to build depth, led by Patricio Kearney and Megan Silva.

Women's Tennis Continues Strong Play with 2-0 Week
Stan State went 2-0 on the week with a pair of 5-2 PacWest victories over Concordia Irvine and Cal State Los Angeles, improving to 6-6 overall and 6-3 in conference play. The Warriors claimed the doubles point in both matches to extend their streak to five consecutive duals, with Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær leading the way at No. 2.

In singles play, Stan State relied on its depth, controlling the middle and lower portion of the lineup. Orlando and Maiah White each recorded dominant straight-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5, while Damkjær added victories at No. 3 in both matches. Emi Mikami contributed a win at No. 6 against Concordia Irvine, and Abbigail Mulick secured a key three-set victory at No. 2 against Cal State LA to help clinch the dual.

Stan State returns to action Thursday, April 2, hosting No. 41 Fresno Pacific at 3 p.m. at Del Rio Country Club in Modesto before traveling to Dominican on Saturday, April 4, at noon. The Warriors continue PacWest play with road matches at Jessup on April 7 and return home for Senior Day against No. 36 Azusa Pacific on April 8.

Baseball Remains in Tight CCAA Race After San Marcos Series
Stan State went 1-3 on the road in CCAA play at Cal State San Marcos, moving to 16-17 overall and 7-9 in conference action. The Warriors are currently seventh in the CCAA standings, just one game back of a tightly packed group of teams tied for second place.

Offensively, Stan State was led during the series by Zach Lewis, who hit .357 with a double and a home run, while AJ Carter added four hits, including a home run and two RBIs, as the Warriors totaled 28 hits across the four-game set.

Evan Fanconi earned the Warriors' lone win out of the bullpen, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings, while Pierce Sailer recorded a save.
For the season, Stan State is hitting .273 as a team, led by Kian Sanchez, who is batting .452 with a .710 slugging percentage. Lewis (.322) and Tyler Crudo (.310) continue to pace the lineup, while AJ Carter leads the team with 23 RBIs and Mason Kelley has added 22. On the mound, Austin Balentine leads the staff with five wins and 33 strikeouts, while Sailer has a team-best four saves and Fanconi owns a 2-0 record out of the bullpen.

Stan State is off this weekend and will return to action April 10-12 for a four-game CCAA series at Cal State San Bernardino.

Warriors Have Posted Five Provisional Marks
Stan State has recorded five NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks across recent competition, highlighted by the men's 4x100 relay team of Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer, Andrew Bishop and Ivan Mendoza, which clocked 40.57 at the West Coast Relays and currently ranks 10th in NCAA Division II. Eric Green added a provisional mark in the long jump with a leap of 24-2.5 (7.38m), while Alexis Nino posted two provisional marks at the Conover Classic in the shot put (47-1 / 14.35m) and hammer throw (177-10 / 54.20m). Andrew Bishop is 21st with his time of 21.11 in the 200 that he ran this past weekend in Clovis.

Softball Returns Home to Host No. 3 Cal State East Bay April 2–3
Stan State went 1-3 on the road in CCAA play at Chico State, earning a split to open the series before dropping the final two contests. The Warriors were led offensively by Marley Hogue, who hit .571 during the series, while Moxie Barton added four hits and Katel Bridgeman and Malia Babasa each contributed three hits.

In the circle, Alexandria Himes posted a strong outing with a 0.54 ERA across 13.0 innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out five, while Nat Camarena recorded the Warriors' win in the series and also contributed offensively with two home runs.

Stan State enters the week at 15-13 overall and 4-8 in CCAA play, currently tied for seventh in the conference standings. The Warriors trail a tightly grouped middle of the standings, with several teams clustered around the .500 mark, while upcoming opponent Cal State East Bay sits second in the conference at 8-4.  Bridgeman leads the team with a .385 average and 17 RBIs, while Babasa is hitting .326 with 11 RBIs. In the circle, Himes leads the staff with a 2.29 ERA and seven wins, with Alexis Camberos adding four wins and a team-best save.

The Warriors will host No. 3 Cal State East Bay this Thursday-Friday, April 2-3 in a four-game series. The two teamas will play a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader on Thursday and finish the series on Friday with an 11:00 a.m. doubleheader.

Men's Golf Places Fifth at Coyote Classic

Stan State men's golf placed fifth out of 13 teams at the Coyote Classic, posting a 17-over 881 (290-293-298) at Oak Valley Golf Club. Owen Bascom led the Warriors with an even-par 216 to finish tied for eighth, recording 10 birdies and an eagle.

Carson Diaz tied for 24th at 5-over 221, while Chase Bird finished tied for 29th at 6-over 222 with a team-best 13 birdies. Ricky Sullivan (227) and Riley Kirk (231) rounded out the lineup, while Jesse Verheul competed as an individual.

Stan State is currently ranked 13th in the latest Scoreboard West Region rankings as it continues to position itself for postseason contention.  Stan State returns home April 13-14 to host the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Golf & Country Club before competing at the CCAA Championships April 20-22 in Stockton.

Warriors Earn Academic All-District Honors

Four Stan State men's and women's basketball student-athletes — Jason Cibull, Quinn Garrett, Alyssa Premo and Jordan Smith — earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, recognizing their excellence both on the court and in the classroom. The award requires a minimum 3.50 GPA along with significant competition participation, highlighting the group's ability to balance high-level academic and athletic success.

Stan State's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week are the women's tennis doubles team of Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær and the men's track & field 4x100 relay team of Ivan Mendoza, Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer and Andrew Bishop, following standout performances in conference and national-level competition.

The No. 2 doubles team of Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær had a dominant week, going undefeated in both doubles and singles. The pair earned wins over Concordia Irvine (6-0) and Cal State LA (6-2). In singles, Damkjær went 2-0 at No. 3 with straight-set victories, while Orlando matched that effort at No. 4, winning both matches in straight sets.
