TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns home to the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium this Friday and Saturday, hosting the annual Kim Duyst Invitational on March 6–7. The two-day meet begins Friday with hammer and discus competition before a full slate of track events takes center stage Saturday. Senior Appreciation is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on Saturday as the Warriors recognize their senior class.
Competitive Field Set for Turlock
The Kim Duyst Invitational will feature a strong collegiate field. Along with host Stan State, fellow CCAA members UC Merced, Cal State East Bay and Cal Poly Humboldt are scheduled to compete. Fresno Pacific, Dominican, Jessup, UC Santa Cruz and Fresno State will also be in the field, along with Hartnell and San Joaquin Delta, setting the stage for a competitive early-season meet across all event groups.
Senior Appreciation Ceremony
Stan State will recognize eight seniors during Saturday's ceremony, honoring
Reyna Dismukes,
Crystal Hernandez,
Justice McDermott,
Timothy Miles,
Bela Moreno,
Mason Phillips,
Christopher Ruiz and
Julian Sanchez. The group has made its mark across sprints, hurdles, distance, jumps, relays and throws, earning All-CCAA honors, NCAA Championship appearances, program top-10 marks and academic recognition while helping elevate the Warrior track & field and cross country programs.
Last Time Out
Stan State opened the outdoor season with a strong showing at the Sunbird Invitational in Fresno, highlighted by provisional national qualifying marks and multiple all-time program performances.
Alexis Nino recorded NCAA provisional marks in both the hammer throw (175-11) and shot put (46-4), with her shot put mark ranking second in program history. McDermott moved into the top 10 all-time in the javelin (160-7), while
Andrew Bishop ran 21.62 in the 200 meters — seventh-fastest in school history — and helped the 4x100 relay clock 41.25, tied for fourth all-time.
Stevie Holguin moved into seventh all-time in the 3000 meters (10:10.81) to highlight the distance group.
Nino Among National Leaders
Already establishing herself among the nation's elite,
Alexis Nino has provisionally qualified for the 2025–26 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 21–23 at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. Nino currently ranks second nationally in both the shot put (14.12m / 46-4) and the hammer throw (53.62m / 175-11), positioning herself as an early national contender as the outdoor season progresses.

Action begins Friday with the throwing events at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.
For the women,
Alexis Nino,
Grace Langenfield,
Donielle Willis and
Sienna Hawkins will compete in the hammer, with Hawkins also entered in the discus. On the men's side,
Logan Edwards,
Luke Giannotta and
Mason Phillips will throw the hammer. Edwards, Giannotta, Phillips,
Justice McDermott,
Joseph Easterwood and
Joel Pitts are scheduled for the discus.
Saturday: Full Slate of Field and Track Events
Saturday features a packed day of competition.
Field events begin with the women's long jump as
Reyna Dismukes and
Richiya Washington represent Stan State. Both will also compete in the triple jump.
Alexis Nino,
Donielle Willis and
Sienna Hawkins are entered in the shot put, while
Elexi Pulido will throw the javelin.
For the men,
Ivan Mendoza,
Eligah Lawrence,
Joseph Easterwood,
Justice McDermott and
Eric Green are entered in the long jump, with Lawrence also competing in the triple jump. Easterwood and
Joel Pitts will compete in the pole vault. In the men's shot put, Phillips, Giannotta, Edwards, McDermott and Easterwood will represent Stan State, with McDermott also entered in the javelin.
On the track,
Vanessa Diaz and
Aubrey Webb will compete in the women's 5,000 meters.
The women's 1500 meters will feature

Ahlia Albergottie will compete in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.
Stan State will field two 4x100 relay teams. The "A" team of

Miles, McDermott, Easterwood and Pitts are entered in the 110-meter hurdles.
In the 100 meters, Bishop, Sawyer, Siebert,
Eligah Lawrence and Sanchez will represent Stan State. The Warriors will also be active in the 200 meters with Sawyer, Bishop, Siebert and Sanchez, while Dismukes is entered in the women's 200.
In the men's 1500 meters,

Following the Kim Duyst Invitational, Stan State will continue its outdoor campaign March 21 at the Mark Conover Classic in San Luis Obispo. The Warriors will then compete at the West Coast Relays (March 27–28) in Clovis before splitting entries April 3–4 between the Brutus Hamilton Invitational in Berkeley, the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco and the Stanford Invitational.
Mid-April features competition at the Bryan Clay Invite, Mt. SAC Relays and Leopard Invitational before postseason action begins April 30–May 2 at the CCAA Championships in San Marcos. The NCAA Division II National Championships are scheduled for May 21–23 in Emporia, Kansas.
