Warriors Reset at Home, Host Cal State San Bernardino in CCAA Series

Stan State welcomes the Coyotes to Warrior Softball Field for a four-game conference series March 13-14, looking to bounce back and build momentum in the CCAA race.

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns to Warrior Softball Field this weekend looking to reset and build momentum in CCAA play as the Warriors host Cal State San Bernardino for a four-game conference series March 13-14.

First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, followed by 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. doubleheaders Saturday in Turlock.

After facing the nation's top-ranked team on the road to open conference play, Stan State (11-9, 0-4 CCAA) returns home focused on execution and response in its first home CCAA series of the season.


Warriors Update

Through 20 games, Stan State is batting .260 as a team with 134 hits, 81 runs scored, 18 doubles, two triples, and two home runs. The Warriors carry a .315 slugging percentage and a .348 on-base percentage into the weekend while going 26-for-30 on stolen base attempts.

In the circle, Stan State owns a 3.72 team ERA across 130.0 innings with 69 strikeouts and just 43 walks. The pitching staff has recorded one shutout and two saves on the season.

Defensively, the Warriors have posted a .946 fielding percentage and will look to clean up key moments as they settle into conference play.


Offensive Leaders

Katelyn Bridgeman continues to anchor the lineup, batting .382 with 26 hits, five doubles, 13 RBI, and a .425 on-base percentage. She has also been perfect on the basepaths, going 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.

Malia Babasa is hitting .355 with four doubles, two triples, nine RBI, and a .437 on-base percentage. Her .484 slugging percentage gives Stan State extra-base production near the top of the order.

Moxie Barton is batting .327 with five steals, while Katrina Rodriguez adds timely run production with six RBI and a .395 on-base percentage.


Pitching Leaders

Stan State's pitching staff will be key this weekend against a productive Coyote lineup. The Warriors have limited walks and worked efficiently in key innings, compiling 130.0 innings pitched with a .312 opponent batting average.

Stan State will look to establish early command and control tempo as it opens its home conference slate.


Scouting Cal State San Bernardino

Cal State San Bernardino enters the weekend 10-11 overall and 3-1 in CCAA play. The Coyotes are batting .290 as a team with 150 hits, 25 doubles, six triples, and 12 home runs. They carry a .431 team slugging percentage and a .366 on-base percentage.

In the circle, CSUSB owns a 4.48 team ERA across 134.1 innings, allowing opponents to hit .271. The Coyotes have recorded two shutouts and three saves while striking out 85 batters.

Defensively, San Bernardino holds a .960 fielding percentage and has turned six double plays on the season.

The matchup presents an opportunity for Stan State to attack early and apply pressure against a team that has been competitive but vulnerable in conference play.

The series opens Friday, March 27, with a doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. First pitch on Saturday, March 28, is set for 12:00 p.m., followed by a 2:00 p.m. finale.
