TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State track & field continued its strong outdoor campaign Thursday and Friday, competing against a deep field of Division I and II programs across the Leopard Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational, and Mt. SAC Relays.
Facing competition from programs such as Oregon, Arkansas, Baylor, UC San Diego, Pepperdine, and Boston College, the Warriors turned in multiple all-time marks, conference-leading performances, and NCAA provisional qualifiers.
Provisional Qualifiers
The Warriors were highlighted by a national-level performance from Bela Moreno, who ran 10:58.68 in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The mark moves her to No. 5 all-time in Stan State history, meets the NCAA provisional qualifying standard, and ranks 27th nationally and fourth in the CCAA.
In the throws, Alexis Nino recorded a 176-5 (53.79m) mark in the hammer throw at the Leopard Invitational, another NCAA provisional qualifying mark as she continues to build on an already qualified position this season.
CCAA Performances
Stan State also saw several performances that positioned athletes among the top competitors in the conference.
Logan Edwards led the way in the hammer throw at Bryan Clay with a 174-8 (53.24m) mark, currently ranking first in the CCAA. He was joined by Luke Giannotta (172-8 / 52.64m, 5th CCAA) and Mason Phillips (159-8 / 48.68m, 6th CCAA), giving the Warriors strong depth in the event.
In the hurdles, Ahlia Albergottie clocked a 1:03.12 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Leopard Invitational, moving to No. 7 all-time in program history and ranking fourth in the CCAA.
Justice McDermont continued his strong season in the javelin, throwing 169-11 (51.79m) to improve his mark while remaining No. 10 all-time in Stan State history and currently sitting sixth in the conference.
Leopard Invitational
At the Leopard Invitational, the Warriors saw strong performances across the throws and hurdles.
Logan Edwards (176-10 / 53.91m), Luke Giannotta (170-5 / 51.94m), and Mason Phillips (165-6 / 50.46m) led the men's hammer throw group, while Donielle Willis (130-9 / 39.86m) and Sienna Hawkins (126-7 / 38.59m) contributed on the women's side.
In the javelin, Joel Pitts (161-5 / 49.2m) and Christopher Ruiz (149-7 / 45.61m) paced the Warriors, while Elexi Pulido (85-8 / 26.11m) added a mark on the women's side.
Bryan Clay Invitational & Mt. SAC Relays
Competing against some of the top programs in the country, Stan State turned in several strong performances on the track.
In the sprints, Andrew Bishop (10.56), Jaevin Sawyer (10.63), and Blayne Siebert (10.80) led the way in the 100 meters.
The middle-distance group continued to show strength, with Austin Hein (1:57.39) leading the men in the 800 meters, while Megan Silva (2:10.87) moved into No. 10 all-time in Stan State history in the event. On the women's side, Crystal Hernandez (2:12.09) and Izzy Soto (2:12.75) added strong performances.
In the distance events, Bianca Scott (17:44.48) and Aubrey Webb (18:10.63) competed in the 5000 meters, while Stevie Holguin (17:37.10) added another performance for the Warriors.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, Alexis Nino recorded a 44-2.75 (13.48m) mark in the shot put, placing seventh in a highly competitive field.

Stan State returns to action Saturday across the Bryan Clay Invitational, where the Warriors will compete in a full slate of events.
Key events to watch include the 100m and 200m featuring Andrew Bishop, the hurdles events with Ahlia Albergottie and Timothy Miles, and the 1500 meters with a strong distance group led by Austin Hein, Izzy Soto, and Megan Silva.
The Warriors will also be active in the field events, including the long jump, javelin, and relays, as they continue to build momentum heading toward championship season.
