TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State men's cross country returns to the Central Valley this weekend as the Warriors host the annual Kim Duyst Twilight on Saturday, Sept. 12, at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., with the Warriors competing in the collegiate men's 8K at 8:30 p.m. on the 2K-loop course.
LAST TIME OUT
Stan State opened its 2026 season with a seventh-place finish out of 17 scoring teams at the University of San Francisco Invitational at Hellman Hollow. The Warriors totaled 208 points and finished ahead of several NCAA Division I programs, including UC Davis, Pacific, Saint Mary's and San Jose State.
Jackson Oliveira led the Warriors with an 11th-place finish in 24:30.0 and was the top non-Division I runner in the field.
Mason Oliveira was Stan State's second finisher, placing 30th in 25:00.9, while
Quentin Clarke finished 62nd in 25:43.6.
Jace Campos and
Tanner Gerhart completed the Warriors' scoring five, finishing 74th and 75th, respectively, in 25:57.2 and 25:57.6.
REGIONALLY RANKED
Stan State entered the 2026 season ranked No. 8 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II West Region preseason rankings. The Warriors are one of four CCAA teams in the regional top 10, joining No. 1 Chico State, No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona and No. 9 Cal State San Marcos.
The No. 8 preseason ranking marked a five-position improvement for Stan State after the Warriors finished the 2025 season ranked No. 13 in the West Region.
The next USTFCCCA regional rankings are scheduled to be released Tuesday, Sept. 15, with the next national coaches' poll scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16.
LAST YEAR AT THE KIM DUYST TWILIGHT
Stan State finished seventh out of 17 teams at the 2025 Kim Duyst Twilight, scoring 188 points in a field that included several NCAA Division I programs.
Jackson Oliveira led the Warriors with a 10th-place finish in the men's 8K, crossing the line in 23:54.7.
Mason Oliveira also finished among the top 20, placing 16th in 24:21.7.
Quentin Clarke finished 84th in 25:45.2, while
Patricio Kearney placed 97th in 25:56.2.
UC Davis captured the team title with 54 points, followed by California with 61 and Chico State with 64.
KIM DUYST TWILIGHT FIELD
Stan State will be joined by Chabot, CSUN, Dominican, Jessup, Modesto, San Francisco State, Simpson, UC Merced and UC Santa Barbara in Saturday night's collegiate men's 8K. The field will also feature competitors representing Aggies RC, Slugman Elite and Ticka Ticka Track Club, along with unattached runners. Stan State is scheduled to have 11 runners compete in the 8K:

KIM DUYST TWILIGHT INFORMATION
The Kim Duyst Twilight will be held Saturday at River Oaks Golf Course, located at 3441 Golf Links Road in Ceres. The course is primarily grass with a small portion on dirt and consists of 2K loops.
The meet begins at 5:15 p.m., with the collegiate men's 8K scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Admission is free for spectators, while parking is $10 per vehicle with cash requested. Spectators will enter through the normal River Oaks Golf Course entrance and exit through Ceres River Bluff Regional Park. Concessions will be available throughout the meet.

UP NEXT
Following the Kim Duyst Twilight, Stan State will have nearly a month away from competition before returning to San Francisco on Friday, Oct. 9, for the San Francisco State Invitational at Speedway Meadows. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. and will be the Warriors' final competition before the CCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 7 in San Bernardino.
