TURLOCK — Cal State San Bernardino's Matt Long threw a complete game five-hitter and struck out 12 on Sunday as the Coyotes won the finale of the four-game series over Cal State Stanislaus, 5-1.

The Warriors are now 24-10 overall and 14-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association after splitting the weekend series with CSUSB. The Coyotes improved to 15-18, 4-16 in the CCAA.

Long allowed just one hit through the first six innings before Cal State Stanislaus' Dante Palacios homered to lead off the seventh to pull the Warriors within 4-1. That was the only run the Warriors would able to score off the senior righty.

Palacios and Jacob Thelen each had two hits and Jake Oketani had the other for Cal State Stanislaus. One of Thelen's hits was a double.

Cal State San Bernardino was led by Drew Valenzuela who went 3-for-5. Brent Planck was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Johnnie Haas and Justin Watson also had two hits as CSUSB picked up 12 hits off four Warrior pitchers.

Cal State Stanislaus starter Matt Costa allowed three runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings to pick up the loss.
