SAN FRANCISCO — Two late rallies by San Francisco State resulted in a doubleheader upset over No. 14 Cal State Stanislaus Friday as the Gators swept 2-0 and 6-2.

Kendra Wood belted a pinch-hit walk-off home run in the opener to lift San Francisco State and the Gators scored six unanswered runs to win the nightcap. San Francisco State improved to 6-9 overall and 3-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Cal State Stanislaus, coming off a bye-week, dropped to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Jessica Gaumnitz picked up the loss in game one, but she was cruising along putting up zeros until the last inning. She walked the leadoff batter Alyssa Esquibel and a sac bunt later, Wood pinch-hit for Adrianna Welch and homered for the win. Gaumnitz, now 5-2, gave up two runs on five hits in 6-plus innings. She struck out five and walked three.

Britney Borba and Ashlee Genseal both went 2-for-3 to lead Stanislaus offensively in game one. Borba, who also went 1-for-3 in game two, extended her hitting streak to 10 games.

In the nightcap, Jennie Arnold hit a solo home run in the second and Meghan Franksen added another solo shot in the fourth to give Stanislaus a 2-0 lead. The Gators, however, answered with a run in the fourth and twice more in the fifth for the lead. Karolyn Gubbine drove in two runs with a double in the fifth to highlight the SF State fourth.

The Gators would add three runs in the sixth for the final margin.

Arnold (3-2), who was 2-for-3 at the plate, suffered the loss in game two going 4 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on five hits. Stacey Hains pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on three hits.

The series continues with another doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
