SEASIDE -- The Cal State Stanislaus baseball team Sunday closed out an unprecedented offensive showing over the weekend with its fifth-straight double-digit scoring performance. The Warriors completed a four-game sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay with a 15-5 victory at the CSUMB Baseball/Softball Complex in Seaside.

The win gives the Warriors sole possession of third place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association with a 13-8 conference record and a 21-9 mark overall. They trail second place Sonoma State by 1/2 game. The Seawolves and Warriors will meet in Rohnert Park at 11 a.m. Saturday for a make-up CCAA doubleheader. The Otters fall to 7-28 overall and 3-17 in the CCAA.

Kyle Loretelli and Jacob Thelen had four hits and four RBIs each to lead the way offensively for the Warriors. With Thelen batting second in the lineup and Loretelli third, the duo would get back-to-back hits in the third, fifth and seventh innings, all innings in which the Warriors scored runs.

Every single starter in the Warriors' lineup Sunday got a hit, and all but one starter got at least two hits, as the Warriors pounded out 23 hits as a team to raise their four-game series total to 73. In the four-game sweep, the Warriors outscored Cal State Monterey Bay 53-12 and batted .456 as a team. The pitching staff finished the series with a 2.38 ERA. In their last five games, the Warriors have scored a total of 67 runs and have stroked 92 hits

The Warriors got things started in the third inning, picking up three runs to break a scoreless tie. They would score at least one run in every inning following the third, except for in the top of the ninth where they stranded runners on the corners after getting four hits in the inning.

Cal State Monterey Bay picked up two runs in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 6-2. The Warriors got both of those runs back in the top of the sixth to push the lead back to 8-2, but Matt DeJesus hit his second homerun of the series in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run shot to right-center that made the score 8-5.

As a team the Otters stranded 13 baserunners Sunday as they had 15 hits in the game. Eric Federico went 5 2/3 innings in picking up the win to even his season record at 4-4. He struck out eight and walked two while giving up just two earned runs on seven hits. Derek Eaton pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout, and closer Eric Cendejas finished the game with two innings of scoreless ball, picking up two Ks along the way.

The Warriors will take five days off before traveling to Rohnert Park to take on the second place Sonoma State Seawolves in a make-up CCAA doubleheader slated for an 11 a.m. start. On Sunday, the Warriors will return home for a non-conference doubleheader against Academy of Art at noon.
