TURLOCK -- In a showcase of complete control, the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors not only challenged the top defense in the conference, they dominated San Francisco State in a 4-1 win Sunday at Warrior Stadium.

Karenee Demery continues to make a case as the best player in the California Collegiate Athletic Association as the true freshman scored two more goals to lead Stanislaus. The Warriors now improve to 11-4-1 overall and 9-4-1 in the CCAA North.

San Francisco State, now 10-3-3, 9-3-2 in the CCAA, hangs on to the divisional lead by one point heading into the final week of the season. The Gators, 7-0-2 in their last nine matches, were ranked No. 5 in the NCAA West Region entering the weekend.

The Warriors have now gone undefeated against the Gators in their last 16 meetings with a 12-0-4 record.

Against the Gators team which has only allowed six goals all season and just one in their previous nine matches, the Warriors offense attacked early and often. SF State entered the contest with 11 shutouts on the season and goalkeeper Annicia Jones boasts a 0.31 goals-against-average with just five goals allowed this season.

"We played a very complete game today. Offensively we totally dominated possession of the ball," Warriors head coach Gabriel Bolton said. "Defensively we were outstanding limiting their opportunities. Our back line and goalkeeping communicated very well today to keep everything organized."

Demery gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead inside the 10-minute mark on a nice set up by Briana McClain who had received a pass from Alisa Barlow. Demery's shot from the far side, sailed past SFSU goalkeeper Annicia Jones to her right.

The Warriors continued their attack and had numerous great scoring chances. They outshot SFSU 14-2 in the first half and forced six Gator saves to keep it 1-0 at the break.

Coming out of intermission, the Warriors continued to press with Demery making her signture moves to give Stanislaus a 2-0 lead at 64:07. After receiving the ball at midfield from Sierra Casas, Demery dribbled past three Gator defenders and went around a charging goalie for her 17th goal of the year.

After a SFSU yellow card issued in front of the Warrior bench at 69:46, Casas perfectly placed a free kick into the box to find KIm DiNardo who finished with a header goal.

Myriah Johnson gave SFSU some life with a score in the 76th minute to make it 3-1, but Stanislaus finished off the brillant match with another goal at 86:44.

In the 87th minute, Alexia Poon scored the team's fourth goal from the far side as she found the back of the net inside the near post. Her goal was assisted by Dunaway.

The Warriors will travel to Chico for a Wednesday match before a home contest against the Wildcats next Saturday to finish the regular season schedule. The Chico State-CSU Monterey matches were postponed due to field conditions and weather on Sunday. The teams will play on Monday.
