KANSAS CITY, Mo.--- Stan State women's soccer is ranked No. 10 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II West Region Poll. The Warriors enter the ranking with a 1-1-2 record after earning back-to-back draws against regionally ranked Point Loma and Dominican last week.
Stan State is one of four CCAA programs in the West Region Top 10. Cal Poly Pomona holds the No. 1 spot, followed by No. 3 Cal State Los Angeles and No. 5 Cal Poly Humboldt. The PacWest is represented by No. 2 Concordia University Irvine, No. 6 Dominican and No. 7 Point Loma, while Seattle Pacific, Western Washington and Simon Fraser represent the GNAC.
Four teams in the West Region Top 10 are also receiving national recognition. Cal Poly Pomona is ranked No. 2 nationally, Concordia University Irvine is No. 13 and Cal State Los Angeles is No. 24, while Seattle Pacific is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Poll.
The Warriors have already faced three teams in this week's regional rankings. Stan State began the season against No. 2 Concordia University Irvine before playing No. 7 Point Loma to a 1-1 draw and No. 6 Dominican to a scoreless draw in its last two matches.
Stan State will begin CCAA play on Friday, Sept. 18, when the Warriors host Cal State Monterey Bay at 4 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. Stan State will then host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m.
