TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State goalkeeper
Zara Mujica has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Warriors go unbeaten in two matches this past week.
Mujica played all 180 minutes in goal for Stan State, allowing just one goal while recording nine saves. She finished the week with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.
The Warrior goalkeeper began the week with a seven-save performance in Stan State's 1-1 road draw at Point Loma on Thursday. Six of Mujica's seven saves came in the second half as the Sea Lions pressured the Warriors after tying the match at 1-1 in the 63rd minute.
One of Mujica's biggest stops came in the 75th minute when Point Loma was awarded a penalty kick. Mujica denied the attempt to preserve the 1-1 tie. She added another key save in the 84th minute as the Warriors held Point Loma scoreless over the final 27 minutes to secure the draw. Point Loma finished the match with a 15-9 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
Mujica followed with a clean sheet in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Dominican, making two saves in 90 minutes. The shutout was her second of the season and eighth of her career. With eight career shutouts, Mujica ranks eighth on Stan State's all-time list. She also has 85 career saves, which ranks 10th in program history.
The senior keeper is the first Warrior to earn a FloCollege/CCAA weekly honor this season. She continues a recent run of Stan State defensive honorees after

For the week, Mujica posted a 0-0-2 record with nine saves, a .900 save percentage, a 0.50 goals-against average and one shutout in 180 minutes.
Stan State will begin CCAA play at home against Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. before hosting Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. Both CCAA matches can be viewed on FloCollege, while fans can listen to both matches on BlueChipBroadcasting.com with Kyle Morrison on the call.
