TURLOCK -- The Cal State Stanislaus softball team went 1-1 on day two of the Tournament of Champions presented by Mizuno, beating Chaminade 8-1 and losing 5-0 to Hawaii Hilo.

The Warriors are now 2-3 in the tournament and will be in a silver bracket game at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday against St. Martin's.

The 22-team tournament at Pedretti Sports Complex and Warrior Field continues with three sets of bracket play on Sunday.

The Warriors wore down the Chaminade Silverswords in game one. Most of the action took place in the third inning for both teams. The Warriors racked up six of their eight runs in the third. Sloan Hanna started off the inning with a double to left field to start the rally. The inning was a crazy one for both teams. Between Hanna's double, Rissetto's single and multiple walks, wild pitches, and errors the Warrior's batted through the entire line-up and scored six runs with Hanna grounding out to end the inning.

Chaminade tried to come back in the third. Shalen Yamaguchi doubled down the left field line and moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt. Chastity Senas got the RBI on her single to left field scoring Yamaguchi, but Jennifer Arnold was on top of her game and was able to hold the Silverswords to just one run for the entire game. Arnold got the win with four strikeouts and allowed one run on four hits.

Missy Corral and Arnold scored the final two runs of the game for the Warriors on RBI singles by Nicole Jenkins and Ashton Brown.

Sarah Locarnni and Arnold each had two hits to lead the Warriors offense.

The Warrior's could not catch a break in game two against Hawaii Hilo. Locarnini started off the game with a single to left center and stole second on an error. However, the Warriors could not capitalize, leaving the bases loaded after two walks and a sac bunt.

The Vulcans scored twice in the second inning with Sarah Lee hitting a line drive to center to score the run. Next Tessa Truong hit a double down the left field line to score Lee for the second RBI. Corral made a diving catch in left field to end the inning.

In the fourth inning, Arnold came in to pitch for starter Brittani Weatherford and held the Vulcans to their 2-0 lead. She had five strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings of work but had to leave the game when she was hit in the face by a line drive.

Hawaii Hilo scored a run in each of the final three innings for the 5-0 win. For UHH starter Amber Waracka, she struck out 10 Warriors and allowed just two hits in the complete game win.

The Warrior's tried to get some momentum going in the seventh inning. Rissetto doubled with one out and both Kiley Mendez and Veronica Luna walked to load the bases, but a fly out end the game, stranded three runners for the second time in the game.
