TURLOCK — DJ Arellano and Colton Beatty came up big in the Warriors' final at-bat as Cal State Stanislaus defeated Cal State East Bay, 3-2, in the series finale on Sunday.

After a day full of offensive frustrations leaving baserunners in scoring position, the Warriors finally came through in the bottom of the ninth to win another one run game. Cal State Stanislaus even its overall record to 9-9 overall and, with a 3-1 weekend, improved to 6-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

All four games in this series were decided by one run.

With two outs in the ninth, Beatty slapped the first pitch he saw over the second baseman to score Garrett Wright from second to tie the game. Beatty had gone 0-for-4 on the day and had just two hits in 15 at bats during the series prior to his clutch hit.

A walk to Jordan Long moved Beatty into scoring position to set-up Arellano's game-winning moment. Arellano drilled a Ryan Devencenzi's 0-1 pitch down the third baseline to score Beatty for the walk-off win. It was also Arellano's first hit on Sunday.

The Warriors had many opportunites to put the game away early, but left the bases loaded in the first and third innings. In the end, Stanislaus left 12 runners on base.

On the other side of the ball, Cal State East Bay (9-13, 3-9 CCAA) was in the same situation. The Pioneers left the bases loaded in the fourth and hit into rally-ending double plays four times as Stanislaus starter Phil Quade got out of trouble continously.

Quade finished with six innings of work, gave up a run on nine hits, struck out three and walked one for the no decision. Anthony Gotelli pitched the final two innings, gave up just one unearned run on one hit for the win as he improved to 3-1.

The Warriors tied the game in the fourth after a Justin Manci doubled that was followed by Eli Davis' triple to right-center. Davis capped off a tremendous series with a 2-for-4 day that included a double and a triple to extend his hitting streak to nine games. He has also reached base safely in the last 16 games.

Davis was 9-for-14 (.643) with four doubles, a triple and scored four times duing the weekend series. He was on base 70.6 percent of the time with a 1.071 slugging percentage.

East Bay had finally broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the ninth on a two-out throwing error by the Warriors shortstop that scored Bryson Nakamura from second. Nakamura, who went 3-for-4, also scored the team's first run, in the second inning, on a RBI single by Erik Rowen.

CSUEB finished with 11 hits and left 10 runners on base.

Cal State Stanislaus will travel south next weekend as the Warriors take on Cal State Dominguez Hills for a four-game set in Carson starting on Friday.
