TURLOCK — UC San Diego scored seven late runs to blow open a tight game as the Tritons took game two of the series, 11-4, Saturday.

The Tritons advance to 14-8 in the CCAA and 16-14 overall while Cal State Stanislaus falls to 15-13 overall and 12-10 in conference play. UC San Diego extends its winning streak over the Warriors to 16 games.

Rain fell immediately after the game forcing the teams to reschedule the rest of the series with a doubleheader on Sunday starting at Noon.

In Saturday's game, both teams scored early and often. The first two innings saw a run scored by both teams, highlighted by a double by Colton Beatty and an RBI single by both Justin Manci and Ross Gonsalves. UCSD found ways to score with a lead off triple in the first by Danny Susdorf. Then a two-out hit by Spencer Fraizer in the second inning to keep the game tied at 2-2 through three innings.
In the fifth, a single and perfectly executed hit and run by UCSD chased Stanislaus starter Rafael Vasquez from the game. Chris Short came in and issued a walk to Nick La Face to load the bases. A strike out and a couple of quality defensive plays only allow one Triton run to score in the inning.
In the Warrior seventh, a double by Gonsalves allowed for Eli Davis to drive him in with a single up the middle to cut the score to 4-3. UCSD answered back with a two-run inning of their own in the top of the eighth.
UCSD scored five times in the ninth inning put the game out of reach for the Warriors and gave way for Tony York to record his fifth save of the season after just facing four batters in the 9th.
The Warriors were able to force UCSD to use their bullpen by seeing five pitchers in the game.

DJ Arellano, Manci, Craig Beevers and Gonsalves each had two hits for the Warriors offense.
