Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ROHNERT PARK — Sonoma State rode Samantha Lipperd's arm and used two home runs as the Seawolves defeated Cal State Stanislaus twice on Saturday.

Lipperd struck out 21 Warriors in the doubleheader as she helped her team pick up 3-1 (in eight innings) and 2-0 wins to stay in the postseason chase by improving to 29-17 overall and 15-15 during CCAA play.

Cal State Stanislaus, which managed three hits in the twinbill, saw its record dipped to 15-36 overall and 6-22 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Warriors had a chance to go-ahead and perhaps win the opener in their sixth inning rally. Trailing 1-0, a Kristan Burns single to center scored Rachel Borges. Sarah Locarnini, trying to score from second on the play, was gunned down at the plate, however, to end the inning.

Instead of leading 2-1, the Warriors had to eventually settle for extra inning play after two strikeouts in the seventh. Lipperd, who ended up with 11 strikeouts in game one, turned that into four consecutive K's with a 1-2-3 Warrior eighth to give SSU the walk-off win opportunity.

After Brittani Weatherford struck out Ancia Purdy to start the eighth, Vanessa Currie singled to set up Hayley Condon's two-run game-winning homer to left field.

In the nightcap, Lipperd took a no-hitter into the seventh, but with one out, Vanessa Del Toro singled to third when the ball hit the bag for the Warriors' only hit. Lipperd struckout the next two batters, to finish with 10, to end the game.

Sonoma State scred in the third on a solo home run by Megan Konieczka and added a run in the sixth with a RBI single by Shannon Kehr that scored Ali Palermo who had doubled.

Del Toro had two of the team's three hits in the doubleheader and Burns drove in the only run by going 1-for-3 in game one.
