OAKLAND — The Cal State Stanislaus baseball team completed perfect bye week from conference games as the Warriors won a pair against Academy of Art on Saturday at Laney College in Oakland.

The Warriors busted out 13 hits in a 14-6 win in game one. Then, three pitchers combined for a three-hit shutout for a 9-0 nightcap victory in seven innings. Cal State Stanislaus improved to 19-14 overall before hosting Fresno Pacific on Tuesday for another non-CCAA contest.

Back-to-back doubles in the seventh inning of game one jump started a seven-run inning for Cal State Stanislaus broke open a tight, 6-4, game keyed the opener win. Justin Manci doubled with one on and one out then Joe Medeiros drove in two runs with a double. CSUS also took advantage of some wild pitches for the crooked number frame.

Manci finished with two hits, DJ Arellano also went 2-for-5 and Ross Gonsalves had three hits as part of the 13-hit parade. Andy Yingling homered in the eighth inning.

Starter Rafael Vasquez improved to 4-2 on the mound by going six innings. He gave up four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

James Singzon went 3-for-3 for Academy of Art (3-31 after the twinbill).

In the nightcap, three Warrior pitchers — Phil Quade, Andrew Graham and Chris Short — combined for the three-hit shutout. Each pitcher gave up a single in the seven-inning game.

Extra base hits again highlighted the Warriors' scoring innings. In the third, Eli Davis tripled in two runs and Michael Turay doubled in Davis to make it 3-0. Stanislaus tagged on single runs in the fifth and sixth, including a solo home run by Erik Larsen. Four more runs in the seventh put the game away to complete the three-game series sweep.

Manci had two of the team's 12 hits and three players — Garrett Wright, Davis and Cisco Green — each drove in two scores.
