TURLOCK -- Three-time All-American Karenee Demery scored two more goals as Cal State Stanislaus beat Cal Poly Pomona, 4-1, Sunday afternoon at Warrior Stadium.

Demery scored a goal in each half while Sabrina Williamson and Tina Benson each scored in the second as the ninth ranked Warriors move to 9-0-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. With Sonoma State also victorious on Sunday, Cal State Stanislaus remains five points ahead of the SSU Seawolves in the North Division with 22 points.

Demery, the two-time CCAA offensive player of the year, also scored twice in Friday's 4-1 win over UC San Diego. She tallied four goals and assisted on two this weekend and now has 12 this season, adding on to her CSU Stanislaus records with 66 goals, 26 assists and 158 points.

"It was great to see us finish the weekend strong. We talked a lot about mentality and overall we did great job competing and playing at a high level," said CSUS head coach Gabriel Bolton.

Demery headed in the Warriors' first score at 23:45 after a great service by Maryssa McDuffy to give Stanislaus the 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until early in the second half when Demery assisted on a Williamson netter that gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead at 49:21.

In the 62nd minute, on a free kick, Karli Nestler sent a beautiful ball from mid-field into the box where Demery again out-jump her defenders for a header score to the top left of the net.

In the 78th minute, Cal Poly Pomona capitalized on a rare Stanislaus defensive mistake. Indra Arteaga intercepted a pass and shot it past Lewandowski to help the Broncos (5-3-2, 3-3-2 CCAA) avoid the shutout.

Williamson also had a nice weekend with a goal and an assist in each contest this week. She helped on the fourth score on Sunday, a Tina Benson goal in the final minute of the match.

The prolific offense continues to put up big numbers with eight goals this week with back-to-back 4-1 wins. In 10 matches, the Warriors have scored a CCAA-best 31. Since the 2-2 tie at Sonoma State on Sept. 20, Stanislaus has outscored teams 14-4.

"To score eight goals in two games against quality opponents really speaks volumes about our attacking prowess," added Bolton.

Cal State Stanislaus will play its next five contests on the road, beginning with Friday at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The CCAA doubleheader with the men will be played inside the Stubhub Center in Carson.
