Box Score LA JOLLA — The 21st-ranked UC San Diego baseball team blanked Cal State Stanislaus, 4-0, in the California Collegiate Athletic Association opener for both teams at Triton Ballpark on Friday night.
Tritons ace Ryan Goodbrand struck out a career-high 11 batters in seven shutout innings of work to improve to 3-0 to lead UC San Diego. The Tritons improved to 6-2 overall (1-0 CCAA) and the Warriors fell to (3-5, 0-1).
Goodbrand also remained undefeated at 14-0 as a Triton after this masterpiece.
Skippy Ferreria had two of the Warriors' four hits in the game. All four hits were singles. Stanislaus reached second three times and Ferreria stranded at third base in the first inning. He had reached on a single to center, moved to second on a balk and got on third on a double-steal with the trail runner,

Dustin Baisdon got the game one start in the series and went six innings. He gave up four runs on five hits in the loss. Basidon also had a career night with eight strikeouts of his own.
