TURLOCK — In the first outdoor event of the season, the Cal State Stanislaus women's track and field team sent out a down-sized team on Saturday at the Stanislaus Open Invitational.

The smaller squad turned in good results, especially in the field events while most of the team took time off from competing during the indoor season.

The Warriors swept the long jump event with the top four finishers led by Andrea Severson with a mark of 16-feet, 11-1/4 inches. Rio Schwalbach, Tessa Gonzales and Jessica Counts also finished in the top four.

Schwalbach also won the high jump with a clearance of 4-10, the same height as second place finsher Counts. Schwalbach and Counts were 1-2 in the triple jump with Schwalbach turning in a distance of 33-8 3/4.

In the javelin throw, Channing Wilson had the best distance of 131-5, which is a provisional mark, while Severson tossed 75-7 1/4.

Severson's busy day also continued on the track as she clocked 15.70 seconds to win the 100-meter hurdles.

Adrianna Blanco is a winner in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.80 and Misha Strong came in second in the 200-meter dash in 27.90 seconds.

In the 3000-meter run, Denali Foldager (second, 10:33.64) and Lizzie Grolle (3rd, 10:47.68) paced the Warriors in a field of 14 runners.
