TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State track & field continued its strong weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational, building off a productive Friday that featured NCAA provisional marks, all-time performances, and multiple conference-leading efforts.
"This weekend was exactly what we needed to build our intensity heading into the conference championships," said head coach Troy Johnson. "I was very happy with the results we saw at the meets we competed in down in Southern California. We had numerous personal bests, top-10 performances, and a relay championship, so I'm very proud of this team and our coaches. We're looking forward to competing in two weeks in San Marcos."
On Friday, the Warriors competed across three meets against a deep field that included programs such as Oregon, Arkansas, Baylor, UC San Diego, and Boston College. The day was highlighted by Bela Moreno's NCAA provisional mark in the 3000-meter steeplechase, moving her to No. 5 all-time in program history, along with strong CCAA performances from the throws group and Ahlia Albergottie's all-time mark in the 400-meter hurdles.
