Stan State Track & Field Set for Southern California Meets

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns to action April 16–18, traveling to Southern California to compete at the Leopard Invitational (April 16–17) in La Verne, Calif., and the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 17–18) in Azusa, Calif. The meets mark the final competitions of the regular season for the Warriors, who return to action after being off from competition this past week.

Warriors Build Momentum Across Bay Area Meets

Stan State track & field turned in a strong weekend across the Stanford Invitational, Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Brutus Hamilton Invitational (April 3–4), highlighted by all-time marks, a provisional qualifier and depth across multiple event groups.

At Stanford, Ahlia Albergottie moved to No. 9 all-time in program history in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.71), while Alexis Nino delivered a standout performance in the hammer throw with a mark of 180-7 (55.04m), improving her season best and ranking 10th in NCAA Division II. Nino also led the group in the shot put (46-10.25 / 14.28m).

The distance group showed depth at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, led by Bela Moreno, who ran 11:12.81 in the steeplechase to remain No. 10 all-time, while Izzy Soto, Megan Silva and Crystal Hernandez paced a strong group in the 1500 meters. Austin Hein led the men's side with a 4:02.77.

The weekend concluded with continued momentum across events, including strong middle-distance performances in the 800 meters and depth in the throws. Nino added a 173-2 (52.78m) in the hammer, while Mason Phillips led the men's shot put (49-3.75 / 15.03m). Albergottie also posted a 59.19 in the 400 meters and 26.22 in the 200 meters.

Event Breakdown

Thursday–Friday: Leopard Invitational (La Verne)
Competition begins Thursday at the Leopard Invitational with a full group of throwers, jumpers, sprinters and hurdlers in action. In the field events, Mason Phillips, Luke Giannotta and Logan Edwards will lead the men's throws alongside Alexis Nino, Donielle Willis and Sienna Hawkins on the women's side in the hammer. The javelin will feature Ellexi Pulido, Christopher Ruiz, Justice McDermott, Joseph Easterwood and Joel Pitts, while Eligah Lawrence competes in the long jump.

On the track, Ahlia Albergottie will compete in the 100-meter hurdles, with Timothy Miles, McDermott, Easterwood and Pitts representing in the 110 hurdles. Julian Sanchez is scheduled for the 100 and 200 meters, while Bela Moreno will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Friday continues at La Verne with discus and shot put competition featuring Hawkins, Willis, Phillips, Giannotta and Edwards, along with hurdle finals on the track.

Friday–Saturday: Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa)
Stan State will send its distance group and select sprinters, hurdlers and field athletes to the Bryan Clay Invitational, beginning Friday with the 5000 meters and 800 meters. Aubrey Webb, Stevie Holguin and Bianca Scott will compete in the 5000 meters, while Izzy Soto, Megan Silva and Crystal Hernandez headline the women's 800 and Austin Hein represents the men's side.

Field events Friday include Nino and Willis in the hammer, along with triple jump entries from Reyna Dismukes and Eligah Lawrence, and continued throws competition featuring Phillips, Giannotta and Edwards.
Saturday features a full day of competition, including the 1500 meters with entries from Bianca Scott, Bela Moreno, Izzy Soto, Megan Silva, Crystal Hernandez and Hein. The 4x100 relay team of Blayne Siebert, Andrew Bishop, Ivan Mendoza and Jaevin Sawyer will compete, along with entries in the 100 meters (Siebert, Bishop, Sawyer, Eric Green), 200 meters and hurdle events featuring Miles and Albergottie.

Field events continue with Richiya Washington in the women's long jump, Lawrence in the men's jumps, and Green and Mendoza competing in the long jump, along with continued action in the throws and javelin featuring Pulido, Ruiz, Pitts, McDermott and Easterwood. Stan State will close the meet in the 4x400 relay with Mendoza, Sawyer, Miles and Bishop.

FloCollege/CCAA Athletes of the Week

Stan State has earned multiple FloCollege/CCAA Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors this season, highlighted by Izzy Soto being named Track Athlete of the Week (Feb. 16–22) and Alexis Nino earning Field Athlete of the Week honors twice (Feb. 16–22, March 16–22). Andrew Bishop was also named Track Athlete of the Week for March 23–29 following his standout performance at the West Coast Relays.

NCAA Division II Qualifying Marks (as of April 13)

Stan State has recorded multiple NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks this season, highlighted by performances across both the track and field events.
Andrew Bishop owns a provisional mark in the 200 meters (21.11), currently ranking 40th nationally, while also contributing to the 4x100 relay team of Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer, Bishop and Ivan Mendoza that posted a qualifying time of 40.57, ranking 24th in NCAA Division II. In the field events, Eric Green has reached the provisional standard in the long jump with a mark of 7.38m (24-2.5), also ranking 24th nationally.
On the women's side, Alexis Nino continues to lead the way with two provisional marks, including a season-best 55.04m (180-7) in the hammer throw, ranking 14th nationally, along with a mark of 14.35m (47-1) in the shot put, which ranks 17th in NCAA Division II.

Warriors Post Top Marks in CCAA Across Events

Stan State track & field has recorded multiple top-10 marks in the CCAA across a wide range of events this season, highlighted by strong performances on both the track and in the field. Andrew Bishop ranks fourth in the conference in the 100 meters (10.50) and fifth in the 200 meters (21.11), while Blayne Siebert sits ninth in the 200. Timothy Miles ranks seventh in the 110-meter hurdles and 10th in the 400-meter hurdles, while Ahlia Albergottie is fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.
The distance group has also shown depth, with Megan Silva (No. 4), Izzy Soto (No. 6) and Crystal Hernandez (No. 9) all ranking in the top 10 in the 800 meters, while Soto (No. 6), Silva (No. 8) and Hernandez (No. 9) are also top-10 in the 1500 meters. Isabela Moreno ranks sixth in the steeplechase. In the relays, the men's 4x100 team ranks second in the CCAA, while the 4x400 sits sixth.
In the field events, Eric Green leads the conference in the long jump with Ivan Mendoza third, while Reyna Dismukes ranks fourth in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. In the throws, Mason Phillips ranks third in the shot put and sixth in the discus, while Alexis Nino leads the CCAA in both the shot put and hammer throw. Logan Edwards (No. 3), Luke Giannotta (No. 4) and Phillips (No. 6) all rank in the top six in the men's hammer throw.

Warrior Record Book Watch

Stan State has already added several 2026 marks to the program's outdoor top-10 lists on both the men's and women's sides. For the men, Andrew Bishop ranks No. 3 all-time in both the 100 meters (10.50) and 200 meters (21.11), while Blayne Siebert sits No. 7 in the 100 (10.73) and No. 8 in the 200 (21.54). The 4x100 relay team of Siebert, Sawyer, Bishop and Mendoza moved to No. 1 in program history with a school-record 40.57, while another relay combination of Mendoza, Siebert, Sawyer and Bishop ranks fifth at 40.86. In the field events, Eric Green is No. 2 all-time in the long jump (7.38m / 24-2.5), Ivan Mendoza ranks sixth (7.17m / 23-6.25), Mason Phillips is eighth in the shot put (16.32m / 53-6.5), and Justice McDermott is 10th in the javelin (48.86m / 160-7).
On the women's side, Ahlia Albergottie ranks No. 9 all-time in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.70), Alexis Nino is No. 2 in the shot put (14.35m / 47-1) and No. 6 in the hammer throw (55.04m / 180-7), while Stevie Holguin ranks seventh in the 3000 meters (10:10.00). Reyna Dismukes also remains among the program's all-time leaders, ranking third in the triple jump (11.79m / 38-8.25) and fourth in the long jump (5.82m / 19-1.25).

Stan State will turn its focus to the postseason at the CCAA Track & Field Championships, scheduled for April 30–May 2 at Mangrum Track & Field in San Marcos. Following the conference meet, qualifying athletes will advance to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 21–23 at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. The official field for the NCAA Division II Championships will be announced May 12 on NCAA.com.
