Baseball falls to CSUSB despite four homers

Box Score SAN BERNARDINO — Craig Beevers homered twice and the Warriors, as a team, belted four homeruns, but Cal State Stanislaus wasn't able to come away with a win at Cal State San Bernardino. The Coyotes took game one of the series, 9-8, in walkoff fashion.

Beevers went 2-for-5 with five RBIs including his two home runs of the year to lead Cal State Stanislaus (10-37, 5-32 CCAA). He hit a three-run bomb in the fifth that gave the Warriors a 5-1 lead at the time. Justin Charles, who went 4-for-5 on the day, led off the game with a solo shot to give Stanislaus an early lead.

Skippy Ferreria also got into the home-run act with a two-run homer in the ninth to tie the game at 8-8. Ferreria

Cal State San Bernardino (17-28, 11-26) scored five runs in the fifth and two in the six to get back into the game.

The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
