Box Score TURLOCK — The Warriors finally brought out the sticks and every player had a least a hit as Cal State Stanislaus blasted Cal State San Bernardino, 15-0.
Skippy Ferreria had four hits,
Matt Chaidez and
Nick Ippolito each had three hits.
Jeremy McDonald gave up just five hits singles in eight innings to lead the Warriors to the series split. The Warriors offensive collected a total of 22 hits.
Cal State Stanislaus improved to 8-14 overall, 4-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Assocition. The Warriors split the series by winning the final two games in the series.
Ferrerria extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He has gone 26 for 51 during the stretch. He's had at least three hits in each of the four games this week (13-for-18).
Colton Beatty went 4-for-6 today with two runs batted in. Five Warriors had two RBIs or more.
The Warriors jumped all over CSUSB starter Kenneth Kissel in the first inning with five runs. Kissel made it through one out and gave up five runs on seven hits.
Stanislaus had seven hits in the first inning including three straight singles to start the home half of the first.
The Warriors added on five runs in the fifth en route to the blow out.
McDonald was dealing on the day to earn his third win this season. He struck out CSUSB leadoff batter Kevin Meriwether three times. McDonald ended up with nine strikeouts.
Martin Gomez struck out the side in the ninth to close out the game as the Stanislaus pitchers combined for 12 Ks.
