Stanislaus wraps up series at Pomona with loss

Box Score POMONA — Tanner Negrette went 3-for-4 and the Warriors led 4-3 at one point, but No. 12 ranked Cal Poly Pomona won the series finale by rallying from behind for a 8-4 win.

The Broncos scored five runs in their final two at-bats in the seventh and eighth to improve to 29-11 overall and 22-10 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona is in fourth place in the CCAA standings are is looking for its first conference tournament trip since 2011 with one more victory.

Cal State Stanislaus, which upset the Broncos on Friday, fell to 12-28 and 6-25.

Negrette provided half of the Stanislaus offense on the day with three of the team's six hits. Negrette also drove in a run with a double in the second. Brent Hall doubled and Marcus Mastrobuoni drove in a score in the fourth with a single. Skippy Ferreria had the only other hit — a single in the third — for the Warriors.

Nick Ippolito had the no decision with a 5 1/3 inning outing where he gave up three runs on five hits. Ryan McDaniel suffered the loss as he gave up four runs on four hits in the final 1 2/3 innings.
