Road Warriors
The Warriors suffered their first CCAA road loss on Saturday at Pomona. It was just their first conferene road game defeat this season. The Warriors had won their six previous away CCAA games dating back to the end of the 2013-14 season.

Couldn't Close it Out
The Warriors nearly posted another key CCAA road win on Saturday at Cal Poly Pomona but was held without a field goal in the last 3:01 to turn a five-point lead into a narrow loss. The close game was expected as Cal State Stanislaus and Cal Poly Pomona had played in overtime in the two prior meetings.

Low Scoring Warriors
Despite being 4-2 and tied for second in the CCAA, the Warriors are the lowest scoring team in the conference. Stanislaus averages a CCAA-low 58.3 points per game with 350 points. The Warriors are also last in field goals (19.7 per game) and attempts (45.7).

Playing Some Defense
Cal State Stanislaus's recent success in CCAA games can be contributed to its defensive play as the Warriors are second with 55.7 points allowed during conference games. Teams are shooting just 40.8 percent (no. 2 in CCAA) and Stanislaus has held opponents to a league-best 28.7 percent in three-point tries.

Four-Game Homestand
The Warriors are starting a four-game homestand, one of two this season, starting on Friday.  The Warriors were 2-2 in the last four-game homestand a year ago. They also went 4-0 in the other set of home games from Jan. 10-Jan. 18 in 2014.

Bayne's Break-out Performance
Christian Bayne had a coming-out party in San Diego on Friday as the freshman guard led the team with 14 points (9 in the first half) in the win over UC San Diego. Bayne also had four assists, two steals and five rebounds. It was Bayne who gave the Warriors their final lead with a three-pointer at 6:01. He would nail another triple with 3:00 to go. He sealed the victory with a pair of free throws in the final seconds.

Tough Rebounders
Cal State Stanislaus, which is third in the CCAA in rebounding margin at +1.8 in league games, is averaging 33.1 rebounds per game. Without Barber
Tyler Barber, who has not played since Dec. 13 (calf injury), has been missed offensively. In the team's first seven games, the Warriors averaged 63.6 points per game. Since Barber's been out (and counting the Chico game on Dec. 13), the Warriors have averaged 54.8 per game. Barber averaged 9.0 points per game and was heating up with outputs of 9, 11, and 16 in three games prior to going down. In the first half of the Dec. 13 game, Barber had netted 9. He's expected to return next week … Shey Mataele has picked up some of the slack since his return. He's scored a total of 19 points in three games.

Against His Former Team
Head coach Larry Reynolds will face his former team Cal State San Bernardino on Friday for the 12th time since joining the Stanislaus staff. Reynolds is 4-7 against CSUSB, where he won three CCAA and two West Region championships.
