Stanislaus State hopes to come up roses in its home games during New Year's weekend as the Warriors host Cal State L.A. on the first night of 2016 and Cal State San Marcos Saturday night.

Series Notes: The Warriors have won three of the last five meetings in the series. Stanislaus is 13-21 against Cal State L.A. and are 8-9 at home against the Golden Eagles.
Last Time We Met... was Jan. 31 in Turlock as the Golden Eagles avenged a loss in L.A. with a 64-58 win. Christian Bayne made 6 of 7 free throws and was one of three Warriors in double-digits with 11 points.
About the Golden Eagles: Cal State L.A. snapped an eight-game losing streak to start the season with wins at home against Northwest Nazarene and Cal State San Bernardino in mid-December… Joshua Munzon leads the Golden Eagles with 16.3 points per game.

Last Next We Meet... will be the Warriors' first trip to San Marcos when they visit on Jan. 23. The game will be at MirCosta College as the new Sports Center is under construction (opening September, 2016).
About the Cougars: Cal State San Marcos has lost two straight, to ranked teams #22 Chico State and #11 UC San Diego on the road … Darnell Taylor leads the CCAA with 21 points a game. He's also fourth in the conference with 7.0 rebounds per game … The Cougars lead the league in free throws (19.8 per game) and blocks (4.6).
Warriors Notes
3-1 CCAA Start:Â The Warriors are off to another 3-1 start during California Collegiate Athletic Association play. It marks the second consecutive year that Stan State has won three of the first four CCAA games. It is also the team's third time in the last five years that they are 3-1 in the conference.Â
Happy New Year:Â The Warriors will be playing in their first New Year's Day game during the CCAA era. Stanislaus has played on Jan. 2 five times before, with the most recent last Jan. 2 in a 53-48 win at UC San Diego. This weekend's games are also the Warriors' firsts on home court to start the new calendar since 2010.

Mr. Consistency:Â Sophomore guard Christian Bayne has been the most consistent Warrior in the first nine games. Bayne has scored in double-digits in all nine games and leads the team with a 14.8 points per game average. Bayne posted a career-high 26 points on Nov. 28 at Fresno Pacific (where he went 11-for-11 on the foul line)and has scored 16 points in three of the last four games.
The Lone Senior:Â Alek Carlson has stepped-up and shown leadership as the only senior on this year's squad, a stark contrast to last year's team when there were seven seniors. Carlson is averaging 11.7 points a game, including making 37 percent of his three-pointers. His best game so far is Nov. 28 at Fresno Pacific when he nailed six three-pointers and finished with a career-high 20 points.
Crashing the Boards:Â As a team, the Warriors are leading the conference in rebounding during CCAA games. Stan State tops the league with 40.5 rebounds per game and is first with 12.5 offensive rebounds per contest. Kyle Gouveia is the team's leader in rebounding with 7.0 rebounds a game (and 3.2 offensive rebounds per game).
Regular Starters: Coach Larry Reynolds has used the same lineup in six of the nine games. In fact, four players —Christian Bayne, Alek Carlson, Kyi Thomas and Kyle Gouveia — have started in all nine games. Richard Medina (6) and Joey Bennett (3) platooned in the other guard spot.
Offensive Starters:Â The six regular starters have accounted for 75.7 percent of the team's scoring. Christian Bayne, Alek Carlson, Kyi Thomas, Kyle Gouveia, Richard Medina and Joey Bennett have scored 455 of the team's 601 points in nine games.
Bench Contributors: Stephen Evans (7.5 points per game) and Vondel Faniel (6.7) are the biggest contributors off the bench as the duo each scored 60 points … Faniel is also second on the team in rebounding with 5.8 boards per game (17.6 minutes per contest).
