After postponing the series against Cal State Monterey Bay due to weather conditions, the Warriors will travel to Cal State East Bay this Friday and Saturday for another two-say series. Doubleheaders against the Pioneers will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.

Series Notes:Â The Warriors have a winning record against Cal State East Bay, going 20-11 against them since the Pioneers entered the CCAA in 2010.

Last Season: Last season Stan State swept the Pioneers 4-0. The series against Cal State East Bay was split up, with the first doubleheader taking place on March 12, and the second doubleheader on April 13. The Warriors won the first two games 6-4 and 6-3, then added to the streak winning the latter two 4-0 and 4-2.

Third Time's the Charm: Stan State's series against Cal State Monterey Bay was originally scheduled for February 17
th and 18
th. After canceling because of a nasty weather forecast, the teams rescheduled their competitions for two doubleheaders this Tuesday and Wednesday. Severe rainfall in Turlock forced Stan State to once again postpone the series. The two teams can only hope that the weather will clear up for the third attempt at a Warrior/Pioneer softball series … New competition dates are yet to be determined.

Busy Schedule: Softball fans are crossing their fingers for a quick weather turnaround with the annual Tournament of Champions just around the corner. Next weekend the Warriors will be host to 26 softball teams for the largest Division II softball tournament on the west coast. The Warriors will play six games over the three-day span of the tournament. Prior to which Stan State will host a doubleheader against Western Washington on Tuesday the 28
th, and a single game against Central Washington the following night. Next week the Warriors will play nine games against eight opponents in a matter of six days.

Alexus Martinez leads the conference in total hits for the season. She has amassed 27 hits in CCAA play, and is followed by Jessica Angulo and Morgan Ratliff from Cal State San Bernardino, and Celeste Adriano from San Francisco State with 25 hits each … As the Warriors leadoff hitter Martinez is 38-for-96 and leads with a .396 batting average.
About Cal State East Bay: Ashley Allen leads the Pioneers with a .369 batting average. Allen is 24-for-65 with seven RBI … Sarah Fukushima leads her team with 27 hits, and is tied with Marisa Lerma with 23 RBI … The Pioneers starting pitcher is Abby Greer with a 2.08 era on seven wins and six losses. So far this season she has given up 25 earned runs on 83 hits, has struck out 37 batters and walked 25.
