Box Score 2 HAYWARD – At the Pioneer Softball Field on Saturday afternoon the Stanislaus State softball team lost two more games to Cal State East Bay 4-8 and 3-5.
Stan State is now 12-18, 8-16 in conference, and the Pioneers are 12-12 and 14-12.
After sitting out of the last six games due to an injury,
Katelyn McDonald made an amazing comeback in today's first game going 1-for-2 and hitting a grand slam.
Alexus Martinez also did well at the plate in game one going 2-for-4.
Down 0-4 in the sixth inning McDonald stepped up to the plate with two outs on the board. With the bases loaded she hit a homer, driving in
Kylie Ragsdale,
Cassidy Duke, and
Alexus Martinez to earn four RBI and tie up the score.
At the bottom of the inning Cal State East Bay took back the game by doubling their score with four more runs, three of which came from a three run homer.
Anyssa Garvin took the loss in game one pitching 4.2 innings. She gave up one earned run on six hits, and walked two batters with one strikeout. She is now 2-5 in the circle.
Kristin Borst suffered the game two loss giving up five earned runs on six hits. She struck out one batter, walked three, and is also now 2-5 from the circle.
The Warriors will be back on their home field this Tuesday with a non-conference doubleheader against Western Washington starting at 4 p.m. It will be the firsts of nine games in six days for Stan State as it hosts the Tournament of Champions next weekend.
