Box Score 2 TURLOCK – In a Tuesday night non-conference doubleheader the Stanislaus State softball team dominated Western Washington with two outstanding wins 3-0 and 10-4 at the Warrior Softball Field.
With 13 total runs to the Vikings four runs, the Warriors added another doubleheader sweep to their record, their first since sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills back on February 12. They are now 14-18 overall, and the Vikings are now 12-10.
Deja Guzman went 1-for-4 in game two, hitting a grand slam and earning four RBI.
Katelyn McDonald was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Alexus Martinez and
Ruby Quiralte were each 2-for-4, and
Lia Tom also earned an RBI.
Continuing momentum from the game one win, Stan State came out strong in the nightcap with five runs in the first inning, highlighted by Guzman's grand slam. Stan State scored three more runs in the third inning, two of which were due to wild pitching from Western Washington. McDonald's double and another Viking pitching error rounded out the Warriors 10 run score in inning four.
Kylie Ragsdale earned the win in game one and is now 8-6 in the circle. She gave up three hits, walked five batters, and struck out four.
Megan Stacy earned the game two win pitching the first five innings. She gave up two earned runs on five hits, walked two batters and struck out three. Stacy is now 2-2 in the circle.
Stan State softball will be back at the Warrior Softball Field tomorrow night for another non-conference matchup against Central Washington at 6 p.m.
