Warriors take final road trip to Cal State San Marcos

For their last weekend on the road the Stanislaus State softball team will travel to Cal State San Marcos to play two doubleheaders against the Cougars this Friday and Saturday.

Series Notes: The Warriors have only played Cal State San Marcos a total of seven times as the Cougars made their CCAA debut last season. Prior to then Stan State played Cal State San Marcos three consecutive years at the Best of The West Invitational beginning in 2011. The Warriors are 4-3 against the Cougars, earning all four wins last season.
 
Last Year: Last season the Warriors swept Cal State San Marcos at Stan State in their CCAA home opener. Over the span of four games the Warriors outscored the Cougars 22-5, and out-hit them 34-14. The highlight of the series was the five-inning, 11-1 domination in game two. Morgan Balestreri led the team going 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI.
 
Team Leaders: As the Warriors' leadoff hitter Alexus Martinez is currently top on her team with a .376 batting average and 62 hits … Katelyn McDonald also leads in two categories with a .458 slugging percentage and 41 RBI … Nicolette Vizcaino is the high scorer for Stan State with 37 runs, and is the only Warrior to reach double digits with 32 stolen bases … Anyssa Garvin is currently leading in the circle with a 2.42 ERA.
 
Warrior Tid-Bits: Alexus Martinez has reached base safely in the past five games, earning at least one base hit in each. Her longest streak so far this season was reaching base in 14 consecutive games. She has also tallied multiple hits in 19 games this season ... Katelyn McDonald has eared multiple RBI in 12 games so far this year.

About Cal State San Marcos: Gabriela Arizaga leads the Cougars with a .413 batting average at the plate.  She is 26-for-63 with seven doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 13 RBI. She also leads her team with a .698 slugging percentage … Amanda Horbasch is Cal State San Marcos' starting pitcher with a 3.57 ERA. She is 4-10 in the circle and has given up 83 hits, 40 earned runs, 46 base on balls, and has tallied 60 strikeouts.
