Series Notes: The Warriors are 4-3 against Holy Names. Last season to debut their home schedule, the Warriors defeated the Hawks 10-2 in six innings … The Warriors are 8-2-2 against Academy of Art since 2009. Stan Sate has won seven out of the last eight meetings with the Urban Knights, and are currently on a three-game winning streak. The Warriors last faced Art U on April 4, 2016 at the Tournament of Champions when Stan State won 3-0.

MSUB Desert Stinger: To start off the 2018 season the Stan State softball team traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the annual MSUB Desert Stinger. The Warriors went 3-2 at the tournament with victories over Western Washington, Northwest Nazarene, and Fort Lewis.Â

Hit the Homer: Already in Stan State's first five games two Warriors have hit home runs. Against Northwest Nazarene on Feb. 3
Ruby Quiralte hit a two-run homer through center field. The following day against Minot State
Alanah Laupua-Vanisi also hit a home run through center field.Â

About Holy Names:Â Last season the Hawks finished in last place in the Pacific West Conference, and were predicted to finish 12th again this year. Taking on the Warriors is Holy Names' first competition of the 2018 season.

About Academy of Art: So far the Urban Knights have played seven games, beginning with five matchups at the MSUB Desert Stinger. At the tournament Art U went 2-3 with victories over San Francisco State and Central Washington, and they were defeated by Montana State Billings, #21 Chico State, and UC San Diego. Samantha Klune leads Art U with a .467 batting average and two home runs. Brenna Youngguist leads with five RBI.Â
