Warriors host doubleheaders against No. 7 Chico State

This week the Warrior softball team will host two doubleheaders against No. 7 Chico State. Stan State will throw the first pitch at noon on both Sunday and Monday.

Series Notes: The Warriors are 44-46 against Chico State since 1999. Last season Stan State went 1-3 at Chico, winning the series opener against the No. 6 Wildcats, 3-2. In last year's victory both Alexus Martinez and Katelyn McDonald went 2-for-4 against the Wildcats' Haley Gilham and McDonald earned two RBI while Martinez earned one.
  
Hitting Bombs: Last weekend against Humboldt State the Warriors hit three doubles and a homer. Alanah Laupua-Vanisi and Maya Yoshiura both hit doubles in the opener before Deja Guzman stepped up to the plate and hit a home run out of the park. In the nightcap, Ruby Quiralte doubled to earn two RBI. 
 
On the CCAA Radar: Currently the Warriors are second in the conference with a 2.46 team ERA. Chico State is in first place with a 0.74 ERA ... Maya Yoshiura leads the conference with five sacrifice flies, Joerdan Lovell is second with a .563 on base percentage, Aliyah Garvin is fourth with a .447 batting average and tied for fifth with 21 hits.
 
Hot Streaks: Ruby Quiralte is currently on a seven-game hitting streak, in four of which she has earned two hits. She has earned multiple RBI in six games so far this year, and has had three multiple RBI games ... Aliyah Garvin is on a 13-game reached base streak, with multiple hits six times this season. Garvin also leads her team in four different categories at the plate.
 
About Chico State: Chico State is currently ranked seventh in the nation by the NFCA, and Kristin Worley leads the Wildcats with a .439 batting average. She is 18-for-41 with three doubles and 15 runs. Bailey Akins has hit five home runs so far this season and Claire Wayne and Karli Skowrup have each tallied four homers. Ari Marsh leads the Wildcats with 18 RBI.
