Box Score TURLOCK - After sitting through weather delays and getting started at 8 p.m., the Stanislaus State softball team rallied and took the win from Concordia Irvine 4-3 in Saturday night at the Warrior Softball Field.
The Warriors are now 16-13 with the win and the Eagles have fallen to 16-9.
Ruby Quiralte was only 1-for-3 for the night but hit a homer in the fourth inning to put Stan State in the lead.
Desiree Gonzalez,
Katelyn McDonald, and
Maya Yoshiura also had one hit apiece.
Alanah Laupua-Vanisi was walked twice and Gonzalez,
Alexus Martinez, and
Karmyn Rivera each scored a run.
The Warriors first scored in the third inning when Yoshiura hit a single up the middle before Karmyn River came in as a pinch runner. After advancing to third off of a wild pitch and a ground out, Rivera stole home to score Stan State's first run.
Quiralte hit a homer in the fourth inning to give the Warriors the lead before the Eagles scored twice in the fifth to pull ahead. Making a break for it, Martinez and
Bryanna Menor each scored at the bottom of the fifth to give the Warriors the win.
Kristin Borst earned the victory in the circle pitching the final 2.2 innings. She didn't give up a single run on only two hits and is now 3-2.
Tomorrow the Warriors are scheduled to play Concordia Portland at 3 p.m. at Warrior field, but due to weather conditions earlier in the day the Sunday schedule is subject to change.
