Box Score CARSON — Cal State Dominguez Hills scored seven unearned runs as the Toros took game one of the four-game set over Stanislaus State, 9-8, in 10 innings.

An error led to a six-run fifth and the Toros scored the game-winner in walk-off fashion in extra innings as a result of another fielding error by Stan State.

The Warriors dropped to 21-14 overall and 17-22 in the CCAA while last place Cal State Dominguez Hills improved to 14-29 overall and 11-26 in league play.

Andrew Wheat cleared the bases with a three-run double in the ninth inning to bring the Warriors back from a 8-4 deficit.

Jarrett Veiga homered in the fourth to give the Warriors a 4-0 lead but CSUDH got a run in the home half of the fourth. But CSUDH sent 13 batters to the plate in the fifth. A two-run triple followed by a two-run homer after two outs were big part of the Toros rally.

Starter Joe Ryan could have gotten out of the inning but a fielding error extended the frame as the Toros capitalized. Ryan gave up seven runs with just one earned run — a solo homer in the fourth by Dalton Duarte.

Trailing 8-4 in the ninth, Stanislaus worked the bases loaded with two singles and a fielder's choice. Veiga drew a bases loaded walk to make it 8-5. Then, with two outs, Wheat doubled to right-center to score three runs to tie the game.

In the 10th, with one out, Justin Morris doubled and moved to third on a groundout. Then Daryl Donerson singled to right to score Morris for the win.
