CARMEL, Calif.--- Stan State captured the 2022 CCAA Women's Cross Country Championship Title this morning for the second consecutive year.
Kaela Dishion paced the Warriors as she was the CCAA Individual Champion for the second consecutive year with a course record time of 20:54.1. Dishion was the CCAA Runner of the Year while teammate,
Najwa Chouati, was the CCAA Newcomer the Year. Chouati finished in third place with fellow Warriors'
Kayden Legan (seventh, 21:53.6) and
Yahaira Zuniga (ninth, 22:03.0) also finishing in the top fifteen to earn All-CCAA honors

TEAM RESULTS: Stan State had four of the top ten finishers in the CCAA Championships to lead them to their second consecutive title. The Warriors' fifth place runner finished in 21st place in
Haleigh Humble. No. 7 Stanislaus State had 39 points followed by Chico State's 52 points, Cal State East Bay in third with 83 points, Cal Poly Pomona was fourth with 130 points and Cal State San Marcos in fifth with 137. Rounding out the top eleven were Cal Poly Humboldt (sixth, 163), Cal State San Bernardino (seventh, 187), Cal State Monterey Bay (eighth, 197), Sonoma State (ninth, 297), San Francisco State (tenth, 297) and Cal State Los Angeles (eleventh, 356).
WARRIORS:
Kaela Dishion captured her second consecutive CCAA title with her first-place time of 20:54.1 followed by
Najwa Chouati (third, 21:20.9),
Kayden Legan (seventh, 21:53.6) and
Yahaira Zuniga (ninth, 22:03). All four Warriors earned All-CCAA honors by placing in the top fifteen. Dishion was CCAA Runner of the Year and Chouati was CCAA Newcomer of the Year. Rounding out the Warriors' top five finishers was
Haleigh Humble (21st), 22:54.4). Also running today for Stan State were
Katarina Borchin (33rd, 23:24.3) and
Bela Moreno (50th, 24:16.8).
UP NEXT: Stan State will now prepare for the NCAA Division II West Regionals which are set for November 19 at Amend Park in Billings, Montana. The women's race will begin at 11:15am (MT).
