VISTA — Brad Sparrer led the Stanislaus State men's golf team Monday and Tuesday with an even-par three-round score of 216 and a 10th place individual finish as he and the Warriors opened their 2022 spring season with an 11th-place team showing at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational at Shadowridge Golf Club.

Sparrer shot a two-under 70 in Monday's opening round, then followed it up with consecutive one-over 73s in rounds two and three to finish tied for 10th. He had the tournament's eighth-best scoring average on par-4s (4.03) and was 11th with 11 total birdies. It was the third straight time Sparrer had been the Warriors' top golfer dating back to the team's final two fall tournaments. It also marked his third consecutive top-10 finish.

Stanislaus State came in with a 916 (+48) combined team score over the two-day, three-round tournament. Tuesday's final round was especially tough with strong winds and rain wreaking havoc over the entire field.

Chris Ebster was Stan State's No. 2 scorer, finishing tied for 42nd with a three-round score of 230 (+14). He was only three over after the first two rounds thanks to rounds of 75 and 72 on Monday. Michael Jura and Tim Sauer both finish tied for 51st with total scores of 233 (+17). Jura, along with Sparrer, was tied for the third-best score shot on Tuesday in the bad weather, posting a one-over 73 in the final round. Armaan Sahota was the Warriors' fifth golfer, shooting 248 (+32) over three rounds.

Stanislaus State next heads to the East Bay to play in Cal State East Bay's Bay Area Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton.
