TURLOCK, Calif.--- The 2024 Stan State Warriors will begin their regular season this Friday, February 2 at 5pm at Warrior Field when they host Menlo College in a non-conference game. The two teams are scheduled to finish off their weekend series on Saturday, February 3 with a 2pm game at Cartan Field on the campus of Menlo College in Atherton, Calif.
WARRIORS: Stan State, under the guidance of head coach
Kenny Leonesio, finished the 2023 season with a 27-25 overall and 19-20 CCAA record. The Warriors qualified for the 2023 CCAA Championships in Seaside, Calif. Five Warriors were named to the 2023 All-CCAA Team including returners
Robert Valdivia and
Tony Jacob. Valdivia was named to the CCAA Championships All-Tournament Team and batted .288 during the season. Jacob went 4-4 in 2023 with a 3.13 earned run average. He struck out 51 batters in 63.1 innings of work.
MENLO COLLEGE: The Oaks began their season this past weekend with a four-game series at home. They went 3-1 against Corban University winning the first three games 13-1, 8-5, and 7-5 before losing the series finale 13-7. Carter Harris hit .667 last week and was one of five Oaks to hit over .333. Ethan Baird drove in six runs to lead Menlo. Harris and Sage Pera each scored a team high four runs. Picking up victories for the Oaks were Roberly Corsi, Anthony Tellez, and Justin Spezia.

UP NEXT: Stan State will return home after Saturday's game at Menlo for a four-game non-conference series with Northwest Nazarene, February 8-10. This will be an early important West Region match-up for the Warriors. The two teams will begin the series with a 4pm scheduled game on Feb. 8. They will continue the season with a 2pm starting doubleheader on Feb. 9. The series will conclude with a noon starting game on Feb. 10.
