ARCATA, Calif.--- As announced this afternoon after the conclusion of the championship match 2024 CCAA Tournament, presented by FloCollege, Stan State's
Aliah Avila was named to the All-Tournament Team. Avila scored the Warriors' goal in their semi-final match against the eventual champion, Cal Poly Pomona on Friday afternoon.
Avila's goal came at the 23:00 mark of the first half off a pass from
Kaley Miller for her team leading ninth goal of the season.
The 2024 CCAA Midfielder of the Year led Stan State with her 22 points with her nine goals and four assists. She scored seven of her nine goals in the Warriors' last 12 matches of the season. Of her nine goals, seven were game-winning goals including a 2-0 victory over then No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona at home on October 27.
Besides being named the CCAA Midfielder of the Year, Avila was selected to the All-CCAA First Team. During the 2023 season, Avila was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year and was a Second Team selection.
The Warriors finished the season with a 10-8-2 overall record and were 6-5 in the CCAA. They finished in fourth place and advanced to the six-team CCAA Tournament for the tenth time and second time in the last three years.
