TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will finish its season long 14-game home stand this weekend when the Warriors host Cal State Dominguez Hills in a four-game CCAA series at the Warrior Baseball Field this weekend. The series will begin under the lights this Friday, Feb. 23 at 6pm. The two teams will play a 1pm starting doubleheader this Saturday, Feb. 24. They will conclude the series with a noon single game Sunday, Feb. 25.
WARRIORS: Stan State enters the contest 4-4-1 after splitting its four-game non-conference series with Central Washington. The Warriors are hitting .278 as a team with a 5.42 team earned run average. They have a .431 slugging and a .373 on-base. Percentages. Stan State has a .951 fielding percentage. The Warriors have hit 15 doubles to go with their nine home runs and two triples.
STAN STATE HITTERS: Six Warriors are hitting .333 or better in
Tyler Van Dyk (.500),
Alex Solis (.438),
Ryan Leonesio (.412),
Kyle Rachels (.367),
Chris Catalano (.333), and
Jonluke Goldman (.333). Rachels leads the Warriors with his .700 slugging percentage and
Jackson Brooks has a team high .625 on-base percentage. Solis leads Stan State with his 14 hits of which five are doubles which also lead the Warriors.
Kyle Rachels and
Jacob Baker each have hit a team high two home runs. Rachels and Catalano lead the team with their seven runs scored.
JD Madrigal and Rachels have the Warriors' two triples.
WARRIOR PITCHERS: Trent Huff and
Will Crookham each have a team low 3.75 earned run average. Crookham leads Stan State's staff with his 2-1 record.
Austin Balentine has recorded both Warriors' saves this season.
Tony Jacob has struck out a team high 10 batters in ten innings pitched.
SERIES SPLIT: The Warriors split their final non-conference series of the regular season with Central Washington. Stan State rallied to sweep the Friday doubleheader 6-5 and 4-3. CWU took the Saturday game 12-3. The Warriors' rally fell short on Sunday in the series finale 7-5. They hit .304 as a team with seven players that hit over .400 in

Ryan Leonesio (.417). Rachels hit two home runs and scored four runs.
Flavio Perez drove in four runs. Besides Rachels' two home run, four other Warriors hit a home run in Leonesio, Perez,
Jacob Baker, and
Danny Murphy.
Will Crookham and
Kody Cardoza picked up the victories in relief with
Austin Balentine with two saves. Balentine and Crookham each struck out five batters.
ALREADY AT FIVE: Of the Warriors' nine games this season,
Alex Solis has five multiple-hit games including two three-hit games.
Kyle Rachels is right behind with four. Rachels and
Chris Catalano each have a six-game hitting streak followed by
Ryan Leonesio at five. Rachels and Catalano each have reached base safely in the last six games in a row while Leonesio has in five and
Jackson Brooks in four. Rachel and Perez each have two multiple-RBI games. Perez has a four-RBI game and Rachels has a three-RBI game.
TOROS: Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-6) enters the series with the Warriors after splitting a four-game series with Concordia Irvine. The Toros are 3-2 in their last five games. They have a .205 batting average with a .321 slugging and .330 on-base percentage. Emilio Barrera leads the team with his .346 average and .500 on-base percentage. Noah Karliner has a .759 leading slugging percentage with four home runs and ten runs driven in this season for CSUDH. The Toros have a 6.38 earned run average with 56 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched as a staff. Julian Diaz leads the staff with his 2-0 record and 2.61 earned run average. Brian Kraft has struck out a team high 13 batters followed by Diaz with 12.
SERIES: Cal State Dominguez Hills leads the all-time series with the Warriors 31-23, but Stan State took three out of the four games last season in Carson. The Warriors took the opener 10-3 with
Ryan Leonesio going three-for-three with a run batted in and two runs scored,
Kyle Rachels and
Flavio Perez were a combined five-for-ten with two runs batted in and four runs scored. Stan State swept the doubleheader 8-5 (11) and 4-3 (10). In the 8-5 victory, Perez was three-for-six with four runs batted in, two runs scored, and a home run.
Tyler Van Dyk went two-for-five with a run batted in, two runs scored, and a home run. In the night cap victory, Van Dyk was two-for-five with a run batted in and a run scored.
Patrick Sweeney picked up the win and
Damian Vallejos the save. CSUDH won the series final 12-4.
Mac Cabero was three-for-five and
Robert Valdivia was two-for-five with a run scored.
