TURLOCK, CALIF. --- Stan State track and field trio of
Caitlyn Bell,
Najwa Chouati, and
Jason Lindsay each captured their respective events while the duo of
Lamont Lane and
Yahaira Zuniga also earned All-CCAA honors in Day One of the 2024 CCAA Track & Field Championships at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium today in Turlock. Bell and Lindsay respectively captured the men's and women's hammer while Chouati won the women's 10,000-meter run.
Heading into Day Two of the CCAA Championships, Stan State women are in first place while the men are in third place.

Earning All-CCAA honors by placing in the top three in their respective events were:
Caitlyn Bell (first, hammer, 170-02),
Najwa Chouati (first, 10,000-meter run, 36:51.40,
Lamont Lane (second, hammer, 171-0),
Jason Lindsay (first, hammer, 181-11), and
Yahaira Zuniga (second, 10,000, 36:54.4). By capturing the men's hammer, a Warrior has captured that event ten times in the last eleven years.
Alfred Nunes is in fifth place with 3032 points after the first five events of the men's decathlon. He is eighty points out of third place to earn All-CCAA Honors. The men's decathlon will continue tomorrow morning at 11am with the 110 hurdles. Cal Poly Humboldt's Bryce Pearson holds the top spot followed by Gavin Hanes (Cal Poly Pomona, 3175), Justin Craven (Chico State, 3112), and Andres Padilla (Chico State, 3039).
The trio of
Luis Mincey (men's 400 hurdles),
Mila Real (women's 400 hurdles, and
Annie Wild (women's 800-meter run) advanced to the finals in their respective events. Mincey finished in third in his heat with his time of 56.72 to earn one of the fastest times in the 400 hurdles. Real finished in second in her heat of the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.05 to earn a place in Saturday's finals. Wild ran the fastest time in the 800 with a time of 2:12.09 to qualify for Saturday's final.
The women's 400 hurdles will take place at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday followed by the men's 400 hurdles at 3:30 p.m. The women's 800 finals are set for 3:05 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
