TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will begin its 2025 season with a fourteen-game home stand starting this weekend with a four-game series, January 31-February 2, with Central Washington. The Warriors' regular season home opener is set for 4:00 p.m. this Friday, January 31. Prior to the game, former Stan State and Turlock High head coach Mark de la Motte will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The series will continue with a noon starting doubleheader on Saturday and finish with a noon starting series finale Sunday.
LAST SEASON: The Warriors finished the 2024 campaign with a 19-27-1 overall record and a 15-23 CCAA record. They finished in tenth place in the CCAA regular season standings. As a team, Stan State hit .296 while its opponents hit .308. Six of their returners from last year's team hit .275 or better in

Alex Solis (.308),
JD Madrigal (.304),
Tyler Van Dyk (.289), and
Danny Murphy (.278). Over on the mound,
Austin Balentine led the staff with his 7-2 record and two saves.

2024 ALL-CCAA: Three 2025 Warriors were named to the All-CCAA Team in 2024.

ALEX SOLIS: Solis is third on the career doubles list at Stan State with his 40 doubles. He is now three doubles of becoming the all-time leader at Stan State. He is sixth on the Warriors' all-time hits list with 149.

Flavio Perez are moving closer to moving into the top ten lists at Stan State in the D2ERA. Baker is nine stolen bases from moving into the top ten as he has 26 career stolen bases. Balentine is seven victories away from moving into the top ten in the wins list as he is now 10-4 in his career. With his 29 stolen bases, Leonesio is six from moving into the top ten in stolen bases. Perez has 12 career home runs and driven in 67 runs. Those numbers place him four home runs and 23 runs batted in from moving into tenth.
CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH: Former Stan State and Turlock High School head baseball coach Mark de la Motte will be throwing out the first pitch for the Stan State Warriors' regular season home opener on Friday, January 31 at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Stanislaus State. The ceremony scheduled to take place at approximately 3:55 p.m.
50 GAMES: Stan State will play a 50-game regular season schedule including a 40-game CCAA schedule. Their CCAA opening four-game series is set for Feb. 21-23 against Cal State San Bernardino. This year's CCAA Tournament will be May 7-10 at Cal State Los Angeles' Reeder Field in Los Angeles, Calif.
SEASON BEGINNING 14-GAME HOME STAND: The Warriors will begin the 2025 season with a 14-game home stand beginning this weekend's four-game series with Central Washington (Jan. 31-Feb. 2). After this weekend, Stan State will host Saint Martin's Feb. 7-8 and University of Minnesota Crookston Feb. 14-16 each in a three-game series. Central Washington and Saint Martin's are affiliated with the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and are in-region opponents for the Warriors. Minnesota Crookston is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and a member of the NCAA Division II Central Region.
CENTRAL WASHINGTON: The Wildcats went 21-29 last season including 15-17 in the GNAC. They hit .304 as a team in 2024 and had a 5.32 earned run average. Five of their returners hit over .300 in Ben Leid (.425), Kevin Barner Jr. (.359), Andrew Sharp (.343), Marcus Manzardo (.342), and Jake Felton (.314). Jonathan Garza II had a 3.80 earned run average to go with his 3-4 record while Daniel Charron was 5-5 with one save.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stan State leads the all-time series with the Wildcats 24-9 including winning seven of the last ten meetings. The Warriors and Central Washington split the series last season 2-2. Stan State won the first game 6-5 with the Warriors hitting three home runs including one each by
Flavio Perez and
Danny Murphy. Perez went two-for-four with four runs batted in while
Robert Valdivia was two-for-five with two runs scored.
Austin Balentine recorded the save pitching a scoreless ninth and striking out two. Game two, Stan State won 4-3 with a three-run sixth inning. During that inning,
Tyler Van Dyk had a one-out pinch-hit game-tying single. Perez scored the game-winning run when
Ryan Leonesio was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Balentine picked up his second consecutive save by pitching a scoreless seventh, giving up a hit and striking out three. Stan State lost game three 12-3 with
Jackson Brooks driving in two runs. The Warriors lost the series finale 7-5 despite
Jacob Baker and Leonesio hitting home runs.
Caleb Bertoncini and Balentine combined to pitch three scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.
