TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will wrap up its non-conference slate of games this coming Friday-Sunday, February 14-16, when the Warriors host the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles in a three game series at Warrior Field, weather permitting. The series opener is set for this Friday at 4:00 p.m. The two teams will continue the three-game series at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday. They will conclude the series this Sunday at noon.
LAST WEEK: The Warriors swept the three-game series from the visiting Saint Martin's Saints this weekend 10-1, 10-2, and 7-1. They hit .265 as a team with twelve extra-base hits of which four home runs (two each by
Luke Davies and
Alex Solis). Five Warriors hit .450 or higher in
Robert Valdivia (.500),
Jacob Baker (.500),
Luke Davies (.500),
Ryan Leonesio (.500), and
Alex Solis (.455). Solis drove in a team leading seven runs this weekend. Stan State's pitching staff had a 1.00 earned run average while striking out 26 and walking eight.

Cameron Rosen picking up a save.

Flavio Perez each with two. Three Warriors have one triple apiece in Van Dyk, Reyes, and
Robert Valdivia. Solis has driven in a team high seven runs and Davies has scored a team high seven runs. Brooks leads the team with his three stolen bases followed by Baker with two.

JD Madrigal (.389). Madrigal leads the team with his seven hits of which two are home runs. He has driven in a team leading five runs and scored a team high five times. Six Warriors have one double each in Brooks and Van Dyk along with
Arthur Navarette Jr.,
Luke Davies,
Flavio Perez, and
Jonluke Goldman. Leading the team with his .722 slugging percentage is Madrigal at .722 while Brooks has a team high .571 on-base percentage. Three Warriors have stolen a base in Brooks,
Jacob Baker, and
Cooper Winton.
PITCHERS: With 7.1 innings pitched,
Cameron Rosen has a team low 0.00 with a save. The trio of
Austin Balentine,
Caleb Bertoncini, and
Rocco Gurrola each have a Warrior victory. Stan State's pitcher have struck out 63 batters and walked just 22 batters in 65 innings pitched. Gurrola has 15 strikeouts and no walks followed by Rosen with 10 strikeouts and two walk and Bertoncini has nine strikeouts and three walks.
NATIONALLY RANKED: Rocco Gurrola is one of 38 pitchers in NCAA Division II that have no walks this season. He is 14
th in the nation with his 15 strikeouts as of this Monday afternoon. The Warriors as a team are 17

FLOCOLLEGE/CCAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK: As announced on Monday afternoon by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Stan State's
Rocco Gurrola was named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Gurrola struck out seven batters and walked no one in the Warriors' 10-2 victory over Saint Martin's on Saturday.
WHAT A START(S): The Warrior pitching duo of
Cameron Rosen and
Rocco Gurrola have started off their first season as a Warrior on a high note. Gurrola is 1-0 with a 3.00 earned run average in his two starts. He has struck out 15 batters and walked no one in 12 innings pitched. Rosen has a 0.00 with a save in his two appearances out of the bullpen.
TIED FOR LEAD: With his two doubles this past weekend, Alex Solis is tied for the career doubles leader with Kyle Loretelli and Adam Hilpert all with 42 in the NCAA DII ERA of Warrior baseball. Solis is sixth on the hits list with 155.
ALSO MOVING CLOSER: Four Warriors in

Ryan Leonesio, and
Flavio Perez are moving closer to moving into the top ten lists at Stan State in the D2ERA. Baker is seven stolen bases from moving into the top ten as he has 28 career stolen bases. Balentine is six victories away from moving into the top ten in the wins list as he is now 11-4 in his career. With his 29 stolen bases, Leonesio is six from moving into the top ten in stolen bases. Perez has 13 career home runs and driven in 70 runs. Those numbers place him three home runs and 20 runs batted in from moving into tenth.
MULTIPLE: JD Madrigal,

Arthur Navarette Jr., each have three multiple-hit games. Leonesio and Navarette each have three two-hit games. Madrigal has two two-hit games and one three-hit games. The trio of

MINNESOTA CROOKSTON: The Golden Eagles are affiliated with the NCAA Division II and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The three-game series with the Warriors is the first three games for the Golden Eagles. This is also the first time that Minnesota Crookston has played in the State of California in the NCAA Division II era.
The Golden Eagles are coming off their second winningest season in program history with a 35-16 mark. They set a school record for conference wins with 28. Minnesota Crookston heads into the 2025 season with a mix of returning players, and newcomers. The Golden Eagles have five starters returning in the line-up.
Sawyer Satrom is back after hitting .326, with 43 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs, and 26 RBIs.
Josh Dykhoff hit .301 as a sophomore, with 50 runs scored, 11 home runs, and 45 RBIs.
Kobe Senn returns after swinging .275, with 35 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs, and 22 RBIs.
Danny Wensloff is back after hitting .271, with 35 runs scored, seven home runs, and 40 RBIs.
Kodi Miller returns after hitting .291, with 24 runs scored, eight home runs, and 28 RBIs.
The Golden Eagles also have several players who could have elevated roles.

Nate Benning is 4-1, with 52 innings pitched, with 34 strikeouts, and 26 walks.
Nate Grafsgaard posted an 0-1 mark, with a 2.18 ERA in 20.2 innings, with four saves.
Isaac Wensloff notched a 6.30 ERA in 40 innings pitched.
Isaac Roers tossed 22.1 innings, with 25 strikeouts, and 14 walks.
Caden Edwards was 2-0, with a 4.96 ERA, in 16.1 innings.
Max Weber was 3-1, with a 3.48 ERA in 10.1 innings.
