Lauderdale and Wild Record NCAA DII Provisional Times to Lead the Way for Stan State at Sunbird

FRESNO, Calif.---  In their first meet of the 2025 outdoor track and field season, the Stan State Warriors participated in the Sunbird Invitational at Ramirez Field in Fresno, Calif.  Stan State's Trent Lauderdale and Annie Wild recorded NCAA Division II provisional times to lead the way for the Warriors.  Lauderdale ran a 53.11 in the 400-hurdles while Wild ran a 2:10.47 in the 800-meter to each provisionally qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May. 

WARRIOR WOMEN WHO FINISHED IN THE TOP THREE:  With her first-place finish in the 800-meter run, Annie Wild moved into seventh place on the Warriors' top-ten list with her time of 2:10.47 which provisionally qualifies her for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May.  She currently holds the fastest time in the nation.

Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva captured the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:00.98, which is the third fastest time in school history.  Also capturing first was Alexis Nino in the hammer.  She had a first-place throw of 168-11 (51.48m) to capture the women's hammer. 

Finishing in fifth place in the 200-meters was Rionna Wallace with a time 24.75.  That time is the third fastest time in school history. 

Besides Wild finishing in the top three in the 800-meters, Crystal Hernandez ran a second-place time of 2:14.42.  Tessa Vasquez ran a 4:41.82 to finish in second while Dede Salcedo ran a 4:44.36 to finish in third in the 1500-meter run. 

Yahaira Zuniga and Wild joined Sanchez-Silva has the top five placers for Stan State in the 3000-meter run.  Zuniga ran a 10:07.00 and Wild ran a 10:12.58 to finish in second and third for the Warriors.  They are now sixth and seventh respectively in school history. 

Mila Real ran a 1:03.18 to place second in the 400-hurdles.  She is now sixth in the Warriors' top ten list in the 400-hurdles. 

Reyna Dismukes finished in second with her jump of 17-9.75 (5.43m) in the long jump. Alexis Nino finished in third in the shot put (33-3, 10.13m). 

WARRIOR MEN WHO FINISHED IN THE TOP THREE:  Led by Trent Lauderdale's NCAA Division II provisional time in the 400-meter hurdles, the Warrior men had several top three placers.  Lauderdale finished in third with his time of 53.11 which is currently the second fastest time in the nation. 

Over in the 1500-meter run, Abe Alsaidi finished in second place with a time of 3:58.12.  Right behind Alsaidi in third place was Dominic Robles with a time of 3:58.32. Tanner Gerhart placed third in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:29.32 followed by Alsaidi who ran a fifth-place time of 8:37.51.  Dillon Carolina had a fifth-place time of 14.81 in the 110-hurdles. 

The men's 4x400 relay team of Timothy Miles, Anthony Pimentel, Jaheim Williams, and Trent Lauderdale placed fifth with a time of 3:23.70. 

Alfred Nunes had a second-place mark of 14-1.25 (4.30m) in the pole vault, Devin Hernandez finished in fourth place in the shot put (46-10.25, 14.06m).  in the men's javelin, Joshua Shimoda finished in third place with a throw of 170-8 (52.02m).

UP NEXT: Stan State will return to competition this Friday-Saturday, February 28-March 1 when the Warriors host the Kim Duyst Invite at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, Calif.  On Saturday, Stan State will recognize its senior student-athletes.
