Warriors Set for Visit Stockton DII Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. — The Stan State men's golf team continues its spring march through the 2025–26 season as the Warriors compete Feb. 23–24 at the Visit Stockton DII Invitational, hosted at the par-72 Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, Calif. The 54-hole tournament marks a key early-season competition on a spring schedule designed to prepare Stan State for postseason play at the CCAA Championships and the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional later this spring.

Recap: CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational

Stan State heads to Stockton following a tie for 10th-place finish at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational, where the Warriors posted a three-round total of 899 (+35) in a 13-team field at Shadowridge Country Club. Owen Bascom led the way with a tie for 18th at 219 (+3), highlighted by a second-round 69 (-3), while Riley Kirk (T33, +6) and Carson Diaz (T45, +9) added steady scoring efforts as Stan State shared 10th place with Jessup.

Tournament Field

The Visit Stockton DII Invitational features a deep 21-team field including Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State San Marcos, Chico State, Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State Pueblo, Dominican (CA), Hawai'i Hilo, Hawai'i Pacific, Jessup, Lubbock Christian, Northwest Nazarene, Saint Martin's, Vanguard, Westmont, Western New Mexico, Western Washington and Stan State.

Among the field, Western Washington (No. 15 nationally), CSU East Bay (No. 20 nationally) and Hawai'i Hilo (No. 25 nationally) enter the week ranked in the NCAA Division II national Top 25. From the South Central Region, Colorado State Pueblo (No. 11 nationally) and Colorado Mesa (No. 17 nationally) are also competing this week.

Stan State Ranked 12th in NCAA Division II West Region/SCOREBOARD by Clippd

According to the latest NCAA Division II West Region/SCOREBOARD by Clippd men's golf rankings, Stan State is currently ranked 12th in the West Region. Western Washington leads the region, followed by CSU East Bay, Hawai'i Hilo, Simon Fraser and Chico State rounding out the top five.

Other West Region programs competing this week in Stockton include CSU San Bernardino, CSU Monterey Bay, Cal State San Marcos, Hawai'i Pacific, CSU Dominguez Hills, Vanguard, Dominican (CA), Saint Martin's, Jessup, Northwest Nazarene and Westmont.

From the South Central Region, Colorado State Pueblo (No. 11 nationally) and Colorado Mesa (No. 17 nationally) are also part of this week's field. In the latest South Central Region/SCOREBOARD by Clippd rankings, Colorado State Pueblo sits second in the region behind St. Mary's (Texas), while Colorado Mesa ranks fourth.

The Visit Stockton DII Invitational presents a key opportunity for the Warriors to gain ground in the regional standings as postseason positioning begins to take shape.

Stan State continues its spring schedule March 9–10 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, hosted by Cal State East Bay at Corica Park in Alameda, Calif. The Warriors will then compete March 23–24 at the Coyote Classic in Beaumont, Calif., hosted by Cal State San Bernardino at Oak Valley Golf Club.

The Warriors will host the 51st Hanny Stanislaus Invitational April 13–14 at Turlock Golf & Country Club before traveling back to Stockton for the CCAA Championships April 20–22 at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

The NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional is scheduled for May 7–9 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, followed by the NCAA Division II National Championships May 18–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
