CHICO, Calif. — Stan State (8-6) travels to Chico State (9-6) this weekend for a three-game non-conference series at Nettleton Stadium, beginning with a 2 p.m. single game on Friday, Feb. 27, followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Payt Hawkinson leads the team with 15 strikeouts, followed by Blurton (12) and Rocco Gurrola (11). Blurton and Cameron Rosen each have one save this season.

Kian Sanchez ranks first in the CCAA in hits, third in batting average, fifth in on-base percentage, sixth in OPS, seventh in slugging percentage, eighth in runs scored and is tied for eighth in home runs.
Mason Kelley is tied for second in doubles, tied for eighth in home runs and ranks 10th in hits, while Cameron Taylor is tied for eighth in home runs. AJ Carter ranks second in triples and is tied for ninth in RBIs. Korey Likens is tied for first in fielding percentage, tied for third in sacrifice hits and tied for eighth in stolen bases.
On the mound, Austin Balentine is tied for first in wins, third in ERA and fourth in opponent batting average. Eli Blurton is tied for second in saves and tied for seventh in wins, while Cameron Rosen and Payt Hawkinson are also tied for second in saves. Series History
Chico State leads the all-time series 46-21 since 2008. The two teams split their four-game CCAA series last season in Chico (May 1-3, 2025). The Wildcats won the first two games, 9-4 and 7-5, before Stan State responded with 4-3 and 9-8 victories in the final two contests. Rocco Gurrola tossed a complete game in the seven-inning 4-3 win to help secure the split.
