TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State's Andrew Bishop has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Male Track Athlete of the Week following a standout performance at the West Coast Relays, held March 28 in Clovis.
Bishop delivered one of the top sprint performances in the conference this season, leading the Warriors across multiple events.
He highlighted the meet with a 10.50 in the 100 meters, moving to third all-time in Stan State history. Bishop followed with a 21.11 in the 200 meters, which meets the NCAA provisional qualifying standard, ranks 21st in NCAA Division II, and also moves him into a tie for third all-time in program history.
Bishop also played a key role in the Warriors' 4x100 relay, helping the quartet of Ivan Mendoza, Blayne Siebert, Jaevin Sawyer, and Bishop clock a school-record time of 40.57. The mark meets the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and currently ranks eighth in the nation.
With his performance, Bishop has also qualified for the 2026 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, continuing to establish himself among the top young sprinters in the country during his freshman season.
A native of Sacramento, Calif., Bishop has quickly emerged as one of the top sprinters in the region, recording multiple all-time marks while contributing to one of the fastest relay teams in program history.
This marks Bishop's first CCAA Track Athlete of the Week honor of his career.
Stan State will continue its outdoor campaign next week as the Warriors compete in upcoming meets leading into conference and national qualifying opportunities.
